  • Publication number: 20210093444
Abstract: A method of making an implantable prosthesis having internal ribs includes forming a shell over a substrate, depositing a curable material onto a first surface of the shell to form one or more ribs on the first surface of the shell, removing the shell from the substrate, and inverting the shell so that a second surface of the shell is disposed outside the shell and the first surface of the shell is disposed inside the shell with the one or more ribs projecting inwardly into an interior volume of the shell. The curable material is cured so that the one or more ribs are integrally secured to the first surface of the shell.

  • Patent number: 10898313
Abstract: An implantable prosthesis includes a shell having an apex, a base, a radius located between the apex and the base, and a dome extending between the apex and the radius. The shell has an outer surface and an inner surface that surrounds an interior volume of the shell. At least one rib is integrally formed with the inner surface of the shell and projects inwardly from the inner surface of the shell into the interior volume of the shell. The shell has an interior volume that is adapted to receive a biocompatible filler material.

  • Patent number: 8951293
Abstract: An insert for receiving a bone screw includes an elongate sleeve having opposed proximal and distal ends and a wall defined by an outer peripheral surface configured for engaging bone and an inner peripheral surface configured for receiving a bone screw extended therethrough. At least one elongate slot is formed in the wall of the sleeve for promoting flexure of the insert. A tool for affixing an orthopedic screw insert within bone tissue includes a socket portion configured and adapted to engage a proximal section of an outer peripheral surface of an orthopedic screw insert. A driver extends distally from the socket portion. The driver is configured and adapted to engage a section of an inner peripheral surface of the orthopedic screw insert distal from the socket portion.
