  • Patent number: 11253733
Abstract: A vehicle window glass shear system and method for causing shearing breakage of vehicle window glass under emergency conditions by a concealed and easily operated system, having a concealed handle unit having a handle, a handle-unit bracket, and a handle-unit cable brace, having a concealed shear unit mounted on the bottom edge of the vehicle window with a shear-unit bracket, window-clamping plate, and fasteners, a shear bolt with a piercing point, a shear drive wheel, and a shear-unit cable brace, and having a cable within a cable sleeve transferring the activation force from the handle unit to the shear unit, driving the shear bolt toward the vehicle window and driving the piercing point into the vehicle window causing shearing breakage of the window glass.

  • Patent number: 10894175
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a glass shearing apparatus. One application of the glass shearing apparatus is in vehicles. The apparatus comprises a handle provided at the vehicle door. The handle is coupled with at least one shearing means. The shearing means comprises a housing in which a window pane is supported. The shearing means further comprises a shear bolt that is coupled with the handle via a cable. In case of an emergency, the occupant of the vehicle actuates the handle thereby causing the cable to be tensioned, and the tensioned cable provides a drive to the shearing bolt, wherein the threadable engagement between an opening of the housing and the shearing bolt causes the translation of the shearing bolt within the opening. The translation of the shearing bolt within the opening is such that it eventually contacts the window pane and subsequently shears the window pane.

  • Patent number: 4147112
Abstract: A cargo support is disclosed which is comprised of a lower horizontal member, an upper vertical brace connected rigidly thereto forming a substantially L-shaped frame. The lower horizontal member contacts the floor and is provided with a plurality of skid preventive spikes. The lower horizontal floor contacting member is additionally beveled so as to tilt any load which sits upon it in a direction away from the support, thus causing a shift in its weight. The floor spikes can be alternatively in the form of rubberized discs or the like for use on smooth surfaces. The cargo support can be used under for example, conventional pallets being transported by moving carriers such as truck, railroad, airplane and the like.
