  • Publication number: 20170344760
Abstract: A system for detecting changes to circuitry includes: a processor; and a memory, and the memory has stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to: periodically measure physical characteristic data of the circuitry, operational data of the circuitry, and environmental data; periodically capture the measured data; generate a dynamic fingerprint based on an aggregation of a first set of the captured data, and the dynamic fingerprint is a compound data structure encapsulating the aggregated data; associate metadata with the dynamic fingerprint; periodically update the dynamic fingerprint according to successive sets of the captured data; and compare the updated dynamic fingerprint to a previous dynamic fingerprint, to detect the changes to the circuitry.

  • Publication number: 20170213053
Abstract: This disclosure provides for implementing a firmware security interface within a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) for communicating between secure and non-secure environments executable within the FPGA. A security monitor is implemented within the programmable logic of the FPGA as a soft core processor and the firmware security interface modifies one or more functions of the security monitor. The modifications to the security monitor include establishing a timer “heartbeat” within the FPGA to ensure that the FPGA invokes a secure environment and raising an alarm should the FPGA fail to invoke such environment.

  • Patent number: 7815865
Abstract: A liquid dispensing device. The liquid dispensing device has a tray for holding a liquid at a relatively constant level. A syringe is used for drawing fluid from the tray. A liquid container containing a liquid is positioned upside-down in the tray. Atmospheric pressure on the liquid in the tray and a vacuum inside the liquid container prevents liquid from draining from the container except when the liquid level in the tray drops to a level sufficient to allow air into the liquid container and to allow fluid to flow from the liquid container into the tray. The fluid flows from the liquid container into the tray until the level of liquid in the tray returns to the relatively constant level. The positioning of the syringe for drawing fluid is simplified in that the level of fluid in the tray is maintained at an approximately constant level despite withdrawal of quantities of fluid from the tray.

  • Publication number: 20100154397
Abstract: Exhaust gas systems and methods are disclosed. A system includes an extensible duct assembly to communicate an exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine to an exhaust gas receiver. An angularly positionable ball joint assembly may be coupled to the duct assembly to fluidly and sealably couple the duct assembly to at least one of the outlet and the exhaust receiver. A method of installing an exhaust gas system includes presenting a first portion of the exhaust gas system to one of an exhaust gas outlet and an exhaust gas receiver, and positioning a second portion of the exhaust gas system relative to the other of the exhaust gas outlet and the exhaust gas receiver. The first portion and the second portion may be adjusted to achieve an alignment, and the first portion and the second portion may be sealably coupled to fixedly retain the alignment.
