  • Publication number: 20080023535
Abstract: A carton (200) includes a composite wall (108/152) with an article dispenser (140/174) formed in the composite wall (108/152). The article dispenser (140/174) includes a pair of composite tear flaps (F1/F2) that are separable from the composite wall (108/152). The composite tear flaps (F1/F2) are defined by frangible lines in the layers of the composite wall. The frangible lines in the layers are strategically misaligned at least in part so as to be arranged to cooperate to facilitate separation of the composite tear flaps from the composite wall and to prevent inadvertent operation of the article dispenser.

  • Publication number: 20070095882
Abstract: A carton is provided including an outer top panel, a pair of opposed end panels hingedly connected to the outer top panel, an integral strap handle extending between the end panels under the outer top panel, and an inner top panel which effectively maintains a closed carton even after activation of the strap handle. The carton is formed from a first blank of material, and the strap handle is formed from second blank of material. The second blank is folded to form a strap handle with an attached inner top panel, and this assembly is then glued to the inside of the carton outer top panel, as both a strap handle and a protective layer.

  • Publication number: 20060231440
Abstract: A basket-style article carrier (200) that is collapsible when empty, and stackable when loaded with articles (C). A handle (H) is disposed on the side of the carrier (200) and includes an angled handle aperture (O). The handle aperture (O) defines a axis of elongation (Y), which is at an angle (A) with tubular axis (X) of the basket style carrier (200). The angle of the handle aperture (O) allows one to hold the basket-style carrier (200) at one's side with one's arm hanging substantially toward the floor such that the articles (C) remain in the carrier (200).

  • Patent number: 7104435
Abstract: A package comprises an article group formed of at least two vertically arranged tiers of cylindrical articles disposed on their sides in a side-by-side parallel fashion, and a carton disposed around the group. The carton comprises a top wall, opposed side walls, an end wall and an article dispenser. The side walls are disposed alongside the ends of the articles of the group while the end wall is disposed adjacent to the side walls of the adjacent endmost articles. The dispenser includes a corner portion of the carton formed from and detachably connected to the top, side and end walls to be removed from the carton to thereby define an opening for exposing at least some of the articles for removal. The opening is shaped to define a recess in each side wall to reveal at least a part of the endmost article in the lowermost tier of the article group.

  • Patent number: 6902104
Abstract: A carton includes a plurality of walls including a top wall, a pair of opposed side walls connected to side edges of the top wall and an end wall interconnecting the side walls defining an upper corner of the carton. The carton also includes an article dispenser for dispensing articles from the carton. The dispenser includes a detachable portion of the carton formed from the top, side and end walls and detachably connected to the top, side and end walls to be detached from the carton to define an opening for exposing an endmost article for removal.
