  • Publication number: 20240103156
Abstract: A system and method for satellite imaging are provided. The system includes a first satellite, a trailing satellite, and a ground terminal. The first satellite acquires synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image data in a first predetermined signal frequency band at a first imaging location and transmits the SAR image data to a ground terminal. The ground terminal determines a second imaging location from the SAR image data and transmits the second imaging location to the trailing satellite. The trailing satellite acquires higher resolution image data in a second predetermined signal frequency band at the second imaging location and transmits the image data to the ground terminal. Systems and methods for satellite imaging are also provided in which a first satellite captures image data and processes the image data onboard to generate a processed product which is transmitted to a receiving terminal at a ground terminal or on a second satellite.

  • Publication number: 20090113174
Abstract: A co-processor for efficiently decoding codewords encoded according to a Low Density Parity Check (LDPC) code, and arranged to efficiently execute an instruction to multiply the value of one operand with the sign of another operand, is disclosed. Logic circuitry is included in the co-processor to select between the value of a second operand, and an arithmetic inverse of the second operand value, in response to the sign bit of the first operand. This logic circuitry is arranged to operate according to 2's-complement integer arithmetic, by also including invert-and-increment circuitry to produce a 2's-complement inverse of the second operand. A comparator determines whether the second operand is at a maximum 2's-complement negative value, in which case the arithmetic inverse is selected to be a hard-wired maximum 2's-complement positive value.

  • Patent number: 7416260
Abstract: The vehicle wheel cover retention system comprises a wheel formed from a suitable material and including a first hub hole provided therein. The first hub hole has a retention member formed in a generally axially extending portion thereof. The wheel cover is formed from a suitable material and includes a second hub hole provided therein. The second hub hole includes an annular axially extending segmented projection. The segmented projection includes a plurality of first tabs and a plurality of second tabs. The plurality of second tabs include a chamfered outer circumferential surface and a shoulder provided thereon. During assembly, the chamfered outer circumferential surface of the plurality of second tabs deflect radially inwardly as the wheel cover is initially installed and moved toward the retention member and then as the wheel cover is further advanced the second tabs move radially outward to enable the shoulder to engage the retention member to thereby secure the wheel cover to the wheel.

  • Publication number: 20070225656
Abstract: A syringe is provided for limiting the dosage of medication delivered to a patient to a pre-determined amount. The syringe assembly includes an injector assembly and vial of medication. The injector assembly has an adjustable dosage control which rides in a track on the injector assembly for limiting vial movement. Once an appropriate dosage is selected using the dosage control, the vial is engaged with the injector assembly. As the vial is pressured into the injector assembly medication is forced through the needle. Once the vial reaches the dosage control, vial movement is obstructed and dosage effectively limited.

  • Patent number: 5403119
Abstract: An apparatus for recovering VOC contaminants from a surface or subsurface release. In one embodiment, the invention includes at least one vertical extraction piling having an interior void space and at least one perforated surface on the exterior of the piling. The upper end of the vertical piling is attached to a vacuum pump by means of conventional piping. The surface area over the piling is sealed to minimize infiltration of surface air or water. A suitable vacuum is applied and the VOC contaminates migrate through a perforated exterior section of the piling then into the interior void space. The contaminates are then transported by a conventional piping system to the vacuum source. Finally the contaminates are adsorbed, condensed, oxidized, or directly discharged into the air.

  • Patent number: 4037102
Abstract: A thin-film superconductor device is disclosed which includes a superconductor film having one or more channels or regions of reduced width. The channel areas define predetermined volumes of superconductive material which is switched from its superconducting state to its normal state by impinging low energy particles. Return to the superconducting state is automatic after a fixed interval depending upon the volume of superconductive material in each channel region. The switching or state changing of the semiconductive region is independent of the energy of the triggering particles and results in output pulses of fixed height and width for a given channel volume. Applications of the disclosed superconductor device in digital memories and particle counting apparatuses are described.
