  • Patent number: 11986179
Abstract: Devices and methods for minimally invasive suturing are disclosed. One suturing device for minimally invasive suturing includes a proximal section a distal end, and an intermediate region therebetween. The device includes a suture head assembly having a suturing needle with a pointed end and a second end. The suturing needle is capable of rotating about an axis approximately perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the device, wherein the pointed end of the suturing needle is positioned within the suture head assembly prior to deployment of guides that are adapted and configured to guide the needle around a circular path when advanced by a drive mechanism having a needle driver for engaging and rotating the suturing needle.

  • Patent number: 9277735
Abstract: A birdfeeder having a one-touch removable base portion and a stationary upper main body portion is provided. The one-touch removable base portion serves as the bottom of the birdfeeder and may have a generally circular housing wherein a spring tensioned pin moves from a closed First Position A to an open Second Position B within the circular housing of the base portion. The components of the one-touch removable base portion are protected from the outside elements by being located underneath the bottom of the birdfeeder. A first end of the movable pin extends outside the generally circular housing of the base portion and locks the removable base portion housing into the stationary upper main body portion of the birdfeeder. The birdfeeder further has a movable exterior guard which selectively either allows access to a feeding port or blocks access to the feeding port.

  • Patent number: 8060418
Abstract: A digital footprint driven multi-channel integrated support system assists a user in managing electronic components based on his or her digital footprint. The digital footprint driven multi-channel integrated support system delivers a dramatically improved ‘digital home support’ experience across multiple support channels (e.g., ‘on-the-box’, web, IVR, agent voice, agent chat, agent email, and more). The digital footprint driven multi-channel integrated support system generates, displays, and uses a ‘digital footprint’ of the components within the home, such as computer hardware/software, computer peripherals, audio/visual equipment, gaming hardware/software, home security hardware/software, or other electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20110174609
Abstract: An apparatus and method of producing and using aluminum slurry containing aluminum particles having an extremely small size. In particular, a particle size that is small enough to freely flow through water filtration filters. Once the aluminum particles react with phosphorus, phosphates, and other contaminants, the resulting particles are large enough to be trapped by filters such that the contaminants can be easily removed. The aluminum slurry is created by the use of a unique process which rapidly transforms electrically charged aluminum plates into slurry. The resulting slurry is then added to the body of water where it disperses throughout the water and flocculates with the contaminants. The resulting clumps produced by the reaction are large enough to be trapped by filters in the water treatment facility.

  • Patent number: 6506524
Abstract: The invention disclosed is an alkali metal-ion secondary cell having a carbonaceous anode and an electrolyte, comprising an alkali metal salt dissolved in an organic electrolyte solvent. Intercalation and de-intercalation during repeated charge/discharge cycle of the secondary cell using a conventional electrolyte solvent causes continual exposure of bare surfaces of the carbonaceous material to the electrolyte, resulting in continual consumption of electrolyte in the formation of new passivation films on the bared or partially covered surfaces, adversely affecting the performance and capacity of the cell. An improvement on the conventional electrolyte involves the addition of fluorinated organic solvent to the conventional electrolyte and results in a more stable passivation film, much less consumption of electrolyte and better performance and cell capacity.

In accordance with the present invention, the organic electrolyte solvent comprises chloroethylene carbonate, propylene carbonate and ethylene carbonate. The chloroethylene carbonate is capable of forming a very stable passivation film on the anode. The performance and capacity of the secondary cell is improved substantially by the addition of the halogenated organic solvent.
