Publication number: 20240120736Abstract: A control system may include a direct-current (DC) power bus for charging (e.g., trickle charging) internal energy storage elements in control devices of the control system. For example, the control devices may be motorized window treatments configured to adjust a position of a covering material to control the amount of daylight entering a space. The system may include a DC power supply that may generate a DC voltage on the DC power bus. For example, the DC power bus may extend from the DC power supply around the perimeter of a floor of the building and may be connected to all of the motorized window treatments on the floor (e.g., in a daisy-chain configuration). Wiring the DC power bus in such a manner may dramatically reduce the installation labor and wiring costs of an installation, as well as decreasing the chance of a miswire.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: Lutron Technology Company LLCInventors: Edward J. Publication number: 20230135310Abstract: The manufacturing of footwear includes the joining of components. The joining may be accomplished with adhesive. The adhesive, such as a polyurethane, is applied as a single-sided adhesive to a footwear component. The application of the adhesive can contaminate the system that is applying the adhesive with intentional over spray of the footwear component. The over spray ensures adequate coverage of the footwear component to allow a sufficient bond. A masking platform of the system masks portions of the system to limit the contamination caused by the over spray. Additionally, material brushes and scrapers may engage with components of the system to remove or limit adhesive contamination on those components. A vision system maps a surface of the footwear component to ensure the adhesive is applied for the specific article.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 28, 2022Publication date: May 4, 2023Inventors: Hyun Tae AHN, TaeSoo Ha, Won Seok Kang, Jae Eik Koo, Sang Hee Lee, Daeyoung Park, John J. Patent number: 11285657Abstract: A thermoforming system for forming a cushioning pod structure that includes a first and a second thermoforming station with each comprised of a film holder and a thermoforming mold holder. The system implements a thermal source that is moveable between the first thermoforming station and the second thermoforming station such that the film holders are between the thermal source and the respective thermoforming mold holder. The system also relies on intentional application of a vacuum source fluidly coupled to thermoforming stations and a movement mechanism configured to move the thermal source between the first thermoforming station and the second thermoforming station. Additional aspects contemplate the implementation of a positive pressure source to aid in the dislodgment of the formed portion, a cooling system to adjust mold temperatures, and/or a fan to efficiently thermoform the component.Type: GrantFiled: October 2, 2019Date of Patent: March 29, 2022Assignee: NIKE, Inc.Inventors: Jae Hak Lee, Sang Hee Lee, Dae Young Park, John J. Patent number: 10710316Abstract: Cutting of a material, such as a textile or film, can damage the material. A tool is provided that utilizes vacuum pressure near a knife edge to increase a result of the cut. The vacuum pressure passes through a base portion of the tool that has a recessed portion effective to distribute vacuum pressure to one or more apertures extending around an insert of a core portion. The one or more apertures align with a void between the knife edge and the insert allowing for the void to transmit the vacuum pressure through the tool to the knife edge. A machine horn may then cut the material at the knife edge and couple the material with another material.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2019Date of Patent: July 14, 2020Assignee: NIKE, INC.Inventors: Dae Young Park, JiHoo Park, Jong Keun Lee, John J. Publication number: 20190366668Abstract: A conforming cushion pod contains a plurality of independent and discrete foamed beads. The filling of the cushion pod includes a system comprised of a bead source, a weighing station, a metering station, and a filling station. To further increase efficiency the system may comprise one or more valves that control a direction of bead conveyance allowing for a plurality of filling stations to leverage a common set of stations. The system conveys the beads through the couplings using a fluid introduced by a fluid insertion nozzle. The fluid is effective increase a throughput of the bead conveyance.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2019Publication date: December 5, 2019Inventors: TaeSoo Ha, Jong Keun Lee, Sang Hee Lee, Dae Young Park, John J.
