  • Publication number: 20180191234
Abstract: A number of configurations of a high speed electromagnetic turbine (1300) are discussed. The turbine (1300) includes a housing (1301) includes at least superconducting coil (1307) for the generation of a magnetic field, the coil being retained within a cryogenic envelope of a cryogenic body (1306). The turbine (1300) includes also includes rotor assembly including one or more rotors (13091), (13092), (13093), (13094), (13095) and (13096) positioned on shaft (1310). The rotor being received within the bore (1308) formed between the interior walls of the body (1306) such that it is immersed in the magnetic field. As the current is passed through the rotor assembly the induced force due to the interaction of the current with the magnetic is translated into a torque on the shaft (1310).

  • Patent number: 9762094
Abstract: Various configurations of an electrometric turbine are discussed. In one possible arrangement the turbine is a radial drum type turbine and includes a pair of opposing magnetic assemblies with drum positioned therebetween. Each of the magnetic assemblies includes a pair of coils an outer coil and an inner coil. The coils are arranged concentrically about the axis of rotation of the drum, i.e. the coils are co-axial with the rotational axis of the drum. The drum includes at least one conductive element coupled to current transfer mechanisms which pass current across the drum. As current is passed across the conductive layer of the drum torque is generated on the drum. The torque is transferred to the output shaft which passes through the drum and magnetic elements.

  • Publication number: 20150214824
Abstract: A generator including a first magnetic assembly and a second magnetic assembly wherein the first and second magnetic assemblies are arranged in parallel for the production of a magnetic field and a null magnetic field region, a rotor positioned between the first and second magnetic assemblies the rotor being coupled to a drive shaft extending through the first and second magnetic assemblies wherein a portion of the rotor is positioned in the null field region, a least one current transfer mechanism coupled to the rotor in the null field region and at least one current transfer mechanism coupled to the shaft, a drive mechanism attached to the shaft, whereby actuation of the drive mechanism causes rotation of the rotor in the magnetic field to produce a electric potential between the first and second current transfer mechanisms.

  • Publication number: 20140306568
Abstract: Various configurations of an electrometric turbine are discussed. In one possible arrangement the turbine is a radial drum type turbine 1800 and includes a pair of opposing magnetic assemblies 18011, 18012 with drum 1802 positioned therebetween. Each of the magnetic assemblies 18011, 18012 includes a pair of coils an outer coil 18031 and an inner coil 18032. The coils are arranged concentrically about the axis of rotation of the drum 1802, i.e. the coils 18031, 18032 are co-axial with the rotational axis of the drum 1802. The drum 1802 includes at least one conductive element 1805 coupled to current transfer mechanisms 1806 which pass current across the drum 1802. As current is passed across the conductive layer 1805 of the drum 1802 torque is generated on the drum 1802. The torque is transferred to the output shaft 1807 which passes through the drum and magnetic elements.

  • Publication number: 20080010741
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for making artificial rocks and wood. In one embodiment, the method is comprised of the following steps: making a mold that has the shape and surface texture of a rock or wood; applying cementitious material within the mold, the cementitious material including acrylic and/or resin-modified cementitious material; applying a hardcoat on the cementitious material; allowing the cementitious material and hardcoat to harden; and removing the mold, the hardened cementitious material and hardcoat having the shape and surface texture of rock or wood.

  • Patent number: 6183034
Abstract: A front cap housing for a vehicle body includes an integral hollow shell member with an upper convex canopy having an aperture of a configuration to receive a front windshield. The hollow shell member includes a lower convex engine cowling. The hollow shell member is configured to be variably mounted on the front of the vehicle body and includes a pair of support posts of a U-shaped configuration extending between the upper convex canopy and the lower engine cowling. A pair of horizontal plate members extend between the pair of support posts, one above the windshield aperture and the other below the windshield aperture to thereby provide a relatively rigid mounting structure.

Abstract: The inertia-actuated acceleration-sensing mechanism for an inertia reel for a vehicle safety belt comprises a pendulum that includes a circular plate that is mounted on a tubular support member for tilting movement at the edge of the plate. The mechanism also comprises an output member that is slidable on the tubular member in response to tilting of the plate, to provide a mechanical output of the mechanism. The tilting movement is arranged to take place about any position on a circle around a vertical line through the normal position of the center of gravity of the pendulum, the circle being centered on the vertical through the normal position of the center of gravity of the pendulum. When fitted to an inertia reel, the mechanical output of the mechanism is arranged to lock the reel against rotation.
