  • Patent number: 9976193
Abstract: A process for the removal of contaminants from a liquor, including two or more of carbonatation, phosphatation and sulphitation of the liquor to form a precipitate having at least some of the contaminants from the liquor, and separating the precipitate from the liquor. The processes may be included in sugar refining or water decontamination processes.

  • Patent number: 9868311
Abstract: A dynamic and adaptive control system for printing cases for and individual packages of consumer products. The system prints one or more checkmarks at a predetermined frequency. As the quality parameters of the checkmark[s] drift from the target criteria towards unacceptable range[s] sampling frequency is autonomously increased proportionately. This system enables one to monitor and act upon a greater range of process parameters than conventional systems, as different checkmarks may be printed in limited space therefor on different packages. This arrangement also reduces unacceptable production, by sampling each case/package if necessary, notifying the operator when corrective action is needed.

  • Patent number: 9766705
Abstract: A stationary interface control knob includes a body having a fixed substantially-cylindrical surface with a first axis, and a flexible touch panel sensor having a sensor surface at least partially in cylindrical form with a spaced relationship from the fixed substantially-cylindrical surface. The sensor surface has a second axis coinciding with the first axis. The flexible touch panel sensor senses a user interaction with the fixed substantially-cylindrical surface and generates an interface signal in response thereto. Also discloses are method of controlling the stationary interface control knob.

  • Patent number: 9684376
Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing tactile feedback to a rotary knob is provided herein. During operation a rotary knob will have a surface pattern that will change smoothly from one pattern to another based on device functions currently being controlled by the rotary knob. So, for example, when the rotary knob is controlling a volume function, the surface will have a first textured pattern, and when the rotary knob is controlling a channel function, the surface will have a second, differing, textured pattern.

  • Patent number: 9155025
Abstract: Technology for method for reducing the number of unsuccessful service change attempts of a first mobile terminal is presented. The first mobile terminal is connectable via a mobile network to a further terminal by establishing a call connection for providing a first service or by establishing a call connection for providing a second service. The first mobile terminal receives a first indication signal indicating that a service change to the second service is temporarily unavailable from a mobile network node administrating an established call connection for providing the first service. In response to receiving the first indication signal, the first mobile terminal refrains from requesting a service change to the second service until reception of a further indication signal from the mobile network node indicating that a service change is available again.

  • Publication number: 20150248211
Abstract: A new hybrid method for displaying, detecting, and selecting objects in a CAD system is disclosed. A CAD model is loaded and displayed using one of several render techniques to approximate natural visual perception (e.g. hidden-line rendering, solid rendering or 3D textured rendering). These render techniques necessarily hide parts of the model to approximate natural vision; additionally, only objects visible to the rendered presentation may be detected (as geometry “snapped to” for additional constructions) or selected for editing. The hybrid presentation method provides in any editing context an instantly available “x-ray view” that apparently de-renders the model in a region surrounding the point of interest and makes any part of the model at any depth visible within the region available for detection, selection or editing. In this mode objects are selectable not by their faces, but by their edges, which are more easily distinguished and picked in this view.

  • Patent number: 9066215
Abstract: A technique is provided for use by a user terminal or mobile services switching center (MSC) for responding to a request to switch an on-going call from speech mode to multimedia mode within a wireless communication network configured to automatically disconnect a call if a requested mode switch is not confirmed within a predetermined period of time specified by a call drop timer. In one example, the terminal or MSC activates an automatic response timer upon receipt of a request from a user to switch an on-going call from speech to multimedia, with the timer set shorter than the call drop timer. The user receiving the request is then prompted to accept or decline the request. If no response is received before expiration of the automatic response timer, the terminal or MSC automatically declines the request on behalf of the user so that the call drop timer does not expire.
