Abstract: A gaming machine and a gaming system is described. Gaming machines may be reserved by operating a button panel. In certain embodiments the reserved gaming machine or a head system causes the printing of a ticket and when that ticket is read by a bill acceptor, the gaming machine unlocks. In other embodiments, reservation is made by other means, including player cards.

Abstract: A gaming system is disclosed which comprises at least one gaming communications module, at least one gaming server, a communications link between the at least one gaming communications module and the gaming server for facilitating communications between the gaming server and the at least one gaming communications module. The communications link includes at least one communication wire and the gaming server is arranged to supply first and second server signals to the communication wire from the gaming server. The system also comprises a splitter device in communication with the communication wire and arranged to provide the gaming communications module with two signal sources, one of the signal sources being for reception of the first server signals at the gaming communications module and the other of the signal sources being for reception of the second server signals at the gaming communications module.

Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a gaming system including a first player interface operable by a player to input at least one first game instruction to play a first game. The gaming system also includes a second player interface independent of the first player interface and operable by the player to play a second game. The gaming system further includes a game control module arranged to process the at least one first game instruction to determine a game outcome of the first game and control play of the second game based at least in part on the game outcome of the first game.

Abstract: A method of reconfiguring the touch screen of a gaming machine having a touch screen and associated display, and a tracking input device, the method comprising: providing a predetermined authorization sequence to the tracking input device; and in response to receipt by the tracking input device of the predetermined authorization sequence, initiating a reconfiguration process for the touch screen display.
