    Abstract: One or more techniques for optimizing cancer classification based on covariate characteristics is disclosed. In a first approach, an analytics system may determine separate cutoff thresholds for positively detecting disease signal for different labels for a covariate characteristic. The system may subdivide training samples based on their labels for the covariate characteristic, to separately determine the cutoff thresholds. In other approaches, the system may train disparate classifiers for each population. The system separates the training samples based on their labels for the covariate characteristic, and separately trains classifiers to generate a signal vector representing an amount of disease signal detected in a sample. The classifiers may be trained on different feature sets as determined based on mutual information gain, genomic region coverage, and healthy activation fraction.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for defending against volumetric attacks, implemented in a cloud-based system. Embodiments include steps of, monitoring flows and a rate of requests to a Data Center (DC); receiving a request from an address to the DC, the request being for a service in a cloud-based system; determining if the address has been successfully authenticated within a past predetermined time period; responsive to the address not having been successfully authenticated within the past time period, and one of (i) the rate of requests being above a threshold or (ii) the number of flows being above a threshold, placing the address in a penalty box for a predetermined amount of time; and blocking requests from the address in the penalty box for the predetermined amount of time.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can be a mobile terminating (MT) device that may receive data from another UE or other network element via a telecommunication network. When a small data payload is available for an MT UE, a base station of the telecommunication network can send a paging message to the UE that includes a Mobile Terminating Small Data Transmission (MT-SDT) paging cause. Based on the MT-SDT paging cause in the paging message, the UE can use Small Data Transmission (SDT) procedures to respond to the paging message. The SDT procedures can allow the UE to obtain the small data payload while the UE remains in a Radio Resource Control (RRC) Inactive state.

    Abstract: The automated generation of a natural language explanation of what code does. The code is structured to perform tasks because the code itself semantically specifies that those tasks are to be performed. A task-centric representation of the code is automatically generated that includes a task representation of each of some or all of the tasks to be performed as specified by the code. Natural language utterances are then automatically generated by generating a corresponding natural language utterance that semantically describes in natural language the corresponding task represented by the corresponding task representation. Controls are rendered for each natural language utterance that each permit a user to edit the corresponding natural language utterance. After editing, the code itself may be automatically modified or regenerated to reflect the changed natural language utterances.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for a multi-layered peel-away sheath assembly for insertion of a blood pump, the peel-away sheath assembly including a sheath hub and a sheath body having a proximal end that is connected to the sheath hub, and a distal end. The reinforcing layer improves flexibility and kink resistance of the assembly The reinforcing layer can comprise LCP, PEBAX, stainless steel, Nitinol, or Kevlar. The reinforcing layer may be a laser-cut hypotube or a braided or coiled filament. A first layer material and a third layer material are thermoplastics, including PEBAX or TPU. The reinforcing layer has at least one discontinuity, which is aligned with peel-away lines in the sheath body to allow an operator to peel-away the assembly. The peel-away lines are formed of inner notches, outer notches, or both. The sheath hub also includes a discontinuity to allow the sheath hub to peel-away.
