  • Patent number: 4611175
Abstract: Method and means for determining the corrosion status of a coated undergrd metallic object without the necessity of excavation. An electrical charge is produced on an area of the pipe, and the rate at which the charge decays is measured. The degree of corrosion of the object is measured as a function of the rate of decay of the charge and the area charged.
