  • Patent number: 8778432
Abstract: A method for brewing and chilling a brewed beverage such as tea includes brewing the beverage within a first container; pouring the brewed beverage from the first container into a second container containing a chilling medium; and covering the second container with an air-tight lid assembly that provides an air tight seal with the second container. The second container may then be agitated. The airtight seal traps vapor generated from the beverage during the chilling, thereby causing the vapor to re-enter the beverage to maintain optimum flavor. The first container includes a brewing pitcher containing an infuser, and the second container includes a chilling pitcher having a removably-attachable air-tight lid assembly.

  • Patent number: 8490810
Abstract: A method of merchandising a modular home storage container system includes providing a plurality of individual groups of containers adapted for use on standardized shelving. Each container has side walls extending upwardly from a bottom wall to an open top and a removable lid. The containers, in each group, have a uniform length which correlates with one of the shelving depths, a uniform width to provide a uniform footprint size to accommodate the use of a single size lid and a plurality of different heights to allow a consumer to optimize the use of the available shelf height space. The heights of the containers are graduated so that the overall height of two stacked shorter containers will approximate the height of a taller container. Preferably a chart correlating the lengths of the individual groups of containers with standard shelving depths is available at the display site.

  • Publication number: 20110303094
Abstract: A coffee maker assembly is provided including a reservoir container including a reservoir opening defined by an upper rim providing access to a reservoir and at least one aperture defined on a surface thereof. The assembly also includes a release valve including a valve seal that rests in a hollow seal holder positioned concentric with the aperture. The release valve is rotatable between a first position in which the valve seal is in sealing contact with the aperture and a second position in which the valve seal is not in sealing contact with the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20110198352
Abstract: A carafe is provided including a carafe body; and a cap. The cap includes an outer lid defining a pouring space surrounded by a continuous peripheral rim. A removable cap is removably mated to the outer lid. The carafe body is movable between a non-pouring position where a liquid is contained within the carafe body and a pouring position where liquid is allowed to flow from within the carafe body into the pouring space. The liquid may be poured out from the pouring space in any direction over any portion of the continuous peripheral rim of the outer lid.

  • Publication number: 20110127280
Abstract: A container assembly is provided including a container body; and a sleeve body. The sleeve body defines an open space within the sleeve body, and a first opening formed at a first end of the sleeve body concentric about a central axis of the sleeve body. The sleeve body also defines a second opening disposed on a surface of the sleeve body substantially perpendicular to the first opening. The second opening provides access to the open space, and includes an edge perimeter that provides increased elasticity to the second opening relative to the remainder of the sleeve body.
