Publication number: 20140300610Abstract: Time re-mapping is used for computer-generated animation. A time re-mapper re-maps at least a portion of an animation's reference timeline to produce a different timeline. In this way the, the re-mapping may enable a re-mapped timeline to be generated that is non-linear. The re-mapped timeline may then be employed by animation generation logic that generates some effect in the animation as a function of time. For instance, the re-mapped time may be used (e.g., in place of the animation's reference timeline) by tweening logic for generating tween frames in the animation. Thus, the re-mapping may be employed to effectively produce such animation effects as easing for the generated tween frames.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2007Publication date: October 9, 2014Applicant: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventor: John Mayhew

Patent number: 8134558Abstract: Systems and methods for editing of a computer-generated animation across a plurality of keyframe pairs are provided. Embodiments enable time editing across a plurality of non-roving keyframe pairs. Such non-roving keyframes have fixed references relative to an animation's reference timeline. An author may specify a point on an animation's reference timeline at which each non-roving keyframe is placed. In accordance with embodiments of the present invention, an animation across a plurality of non-roving keyframes is treated as an editable unit. Thus, an author may modify the timing for all or a select portion of such editable unit (which may span a plurality of the non-roving keyframes). For instance, an author may expand or reduce the time span for a plurality of non-roving keyframes, and the timing of the plurality of non-roving keyframes automatically adjusts to maintain their timing proportionality relative to each other in the resulting modified time span.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2007Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Adobe Systems IncorporatedInventor: John Mayhew

Patent number: 6354327Abstract: According to principles of this invention, an override controller is structured for being placed in pressurized fluid lines between a valve position transducer and a valve position actuator of an automatic position-controlled valve assembly, with the override controller receiving uncontrolled supply pressurized fluid and having an exhaust. The override controller receives pressurized fluid at first and second inlet ports from the valve position transducer and furnishes this pressurized fluid to the valve position actuator through first and second outlet ports for controlling the position of the valve during normal operation. However, valve mechanisms of the override controller can also be placed in positions for stopping flow of pressurized fluid through the first and second inlet ports and providing fluid flow from the uncontrolled pressurized fluid to the first and second outlet ports for controlling the position of an industrial valve during override operation.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2000Date of Patent: March 12, 2002Assignee: Virginia Valve CompanyInventor: John Mayhew

Patent number: 5654885Abstract: A valve position controller (10) for controlling the position of an industrial-valve element (29, 29') includes a check valve (72, 74) in each of closing and opening pressurized-fluid input lines (68, 70) for respectively leading pressurized fluids from a pressurized source (30) to closing and opening solenoid actuating valves (106, 104) via a common input fork (62). The valve position controller can be changed between a fail-in-place" mode, and a "fail-closed" mode by interchanging input and exhaust lines (68, 88) to an opening actuating valve (64) and reversing electrical operation of a solenoid (104) of the opening actuating valve. A needle valve (94) in a common exhaust line allows speed of the system to be optimized for a set resolution.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 1995Date of Patent: August 5, 1997Assignee: Virginia Valve Company CorporationInventors: John Mayhew, Dwayne M. Patent number: 5097857Abstract: An electro-hydraulic valve-actuator system (30) includes an electric motor (58) for driving a hydraulic pump (60), with an electrical control circuit (68) energizing the electric motor to thereby furnish hydraulic fluid to a valve actuator (16). A timer (90, 92) times activation of the electric motor and extinguishes such activation at expiration of a time period required to approximately move a valve (22) to a desired position. A four-way electric solenoid valve (66) is coupled to the electrical control circuit for channeling pumped hydraulic fluid to either close or open the valve. An adjustable hydraulic bypass relief valve (76) is coupled to the hydraulic pump for establishing a hydraulic-fluid pressure provided by the pump. Individual electro-hydraulic valve-actuator systems of this invention can replace a pneumatic valve-actuator system, or electro-mechanical valve actuators.Type: GrantFiled: August 2, 1991Date of Patent: March 24, 1992Inventor: John Mayhew
