  • Publication number: 20240134460
Abstract: The present technology provides a mechanism by which a player can make a gesture with their hands which can bring up a virtual controller, wherein hand movements and finger tracking can result in locomotion of an avatar through a virtual world without need for a hardware controller. Therefore, a player can have a natural conversion or otherwise control the hands of their avatar to interact with other objects in the virtual world, and then use the avatar's hands to bring up a virtual controller to control locomotive movements of their avatar without the player of a physical controller.

  • Publication number: 20240127520
Abstract: The present technology pertains to supporting contact interactions between avatars. For example, the present technology supports collisions between a collider and a receiver on avatars and effectuating a resulting effect. In another example, the present technology supports contact interactions that result in secondary motion behaviors from portions of an avatar. Portions of an avatar can be manipulated by forces from colliders that are exerted on the portions of the avatar configured with secondary motion. In addition to supporting interactions between avatars and portions of avatars, the present technology also solves other problems that are collateral to the supporting of contact interactions between avatars. One such problem is one of consent to engage in contact between avatars.

  • Publication number: 20240124103
Abstract: A device for removably attaching two pieces of an apparatus (such as a leg rope to a surfboard) together is described which has two members (a first male member and a second female member) that are movable to be in two positions, one a locked position and the other an unlocking position. The first male member is joined to a first piece of the apparatus (such as the leg rope) and the second female member is joined to the other piece of the apparatus (such as the surfboard). Ball bearings are located in the device in cavities movable under a predetermined plan to allow the device to join the two pieces together in a locked position and to allow the first piece to be removed from the second piece in the unlocking position, operable under hand pressure.

  • Publication number: 20240108844
Abstract: A humidification system can include a heater base, a humidification chamber, and a breathing circuit. A cartridge can be removably coupled to the heater base. The cartridge can include various sensors, probes, sensor wire connectors, heater wire connectors, and/or other features. The cartridge can include features configured to mate with corresponding features on the humidification chamber and the heater base. The cartridge includes a memory, such as an EEPROM, or other suitable storage device. When the cartridge is installed on the heater base, the memory is electrically connected to a processor and/or memory of the heater base. Various models of cartridges can be produced for use with different humidification chambers, breathing circuits, and/or therapies. A connector can be configured to couple an inspiratory conduit to an outlet port of the humidification chamber. The connector can provide a pneumatic connection to the outlet port and an electrical connection to the cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20230002015
Abstract: A mount for removably installing a fin to a board used in water sports such as a surf board, wake board, windsurfing board and stand-up paddle board is provided. The mount is secured within the deck of the board and has a pivoting member pivoting between a locked position, to lock a fin to the board, to an unlocked position where the fin can be removed from the board, under hand pressure. As shown in drawing the pivoting member pivots about a pivot pin. In the unlocked position lug can be disengaged from its complementary recess (such as a notch) in the front end of the base of fin and the fin can be removed from the mount. In the locked operation the fin is fitted into channel and the pivoting member pivoted by hand pressure on a plate to cause lug to engage with notch.

  • Publication number: 20120135107
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of preparing a leavened bread dough, said method comprising the following sequence of processing steps: combining flour, water, yeast and/or leavening agent, and optionally one or more additional bakery ingredients to produce a dough-type mix; mixing and working the dough-type mix in a mixer to produce an underdeveloped dough with a density of 0.9-1.5 g/ml, the total energy input from the mixer into the underdeveloped dough during said mixing and working of the dough-type mix being at least 1 W.h/kg; further working a batch of at least 15 kg of the underdeveloped dough by subjecting it to deformation shear, thereby producing a developed dough; dividing the developed dough into two or more developed dough pieces having an individual mass of 30-3000 g; and leavening the developed dough pieces to yield leavened dough pieces having a specific volume of at least 2.0 ml/g; wherein the aforementioned sequence of processing steps is completed within 3 hours.

  • Patent number: 5950824
Abstract: A tapered golf bag having a base which has a greater cross-sectional area than the cross sectional area of the opening of the golf bag provides easy insertion and removal of clubs and more stability to the bag when it rests in an upright position. Storage compartments are provided which lie between a contiguous side which defines a club receptacle cavity and normal boundary lines extending perpendicularly upward from the periphery of the base.

  • Patent number: 4581707
Abstract: A device for ascertaining flow rate through one or more valves and/or pumps simultaneously. A transducer (T.10) is connected to the valve actuator member and displaceable or rotatable therewith and produces an output determined by the valve position. The output of the transducer is supplied to an electronic processing mean (13) programmed to calculate the flow rate from data relating to the flow characteristics of the or each valve and data relating to the flow characteristics of the fluid concerned and the temperature and pressure and to display the calculated flow rate or utilize the calculated flow rate to control the valve position to regulate the flow rate.
