  • Publication number: 20240027775
Abstract: An optical device includes a stack that includes a first curved optical element stacked with a second curved optical element. The second curved optical element propagates light by total internal reflection. The stack also includes an incoupling diffractive grating that incouples the light into the second optical element and an outcoupling diffractive grating optically coupled to the incoupling diffractive grating through the second curved optical element. The outcoupling diffractive grating directs the light. The first curved optical element has a first refractive index, the second curved optical element has a second refractive index, and the first refractive index is different from the second refractive index by approximately 0.15 to 1.2.

  • Patent number: 11875200
Abstract: A message limit value to be used in enqueuing one or more messages on a queue of a device of the computing environment is obtained. The message limit value indicates whether an extended maximum message length is supported by the device. The extended maximum message length is different from a default maximum message length supported by the device. Based on determining that the extended maximum message length is supported and that the obtained message limit value has a defined relationship with a select value, at least one message of an extended length is enqueued on the queue of the device.

  • Patent number: 11864941
Abstract: A method for verifying aperture positions of a pre-patient collimator of a computed tomography (CT) imaging system includes obtaining data collected by an X-ray measurement device having detector elements subjected to X-rays emitted from an X-ray source of the CT imaging system with the pre-patient collimator at an expected aperture position. The method also includes calculating a measured collimator aperture position for the pre-patient collimator based on the obtained data. The method further includes comparing the measured collimator aperture position to a system specification for the expected aperture position for the CT imaging system. The method even further includes generating an output based on the comparison of the measured collimator aperture position to the system specification.

  • Publication number: 20230344654
Abstract: A system includes a plurality of electronic control units (ECUs) and a shared high security module (sHSM) separate from and connected to the plurality of ECUs over one or more private networks. At least one of the ECUs, over at least one of the plurality of private networks, authenticates a session with the sHSM and requests servicing during the authenticated session. The servicing includes encryption, decryption, or authentication, of a message designated to be handled by the at least one ECU and included in the request for servicing. • Patent number: 11712751
Abstract: Fabricating a capacitor includes performing an oxide formation operation on a sheet of material. The oxide formation operation forms an anode metal oxide on an anode metal. A thermal compression is performed on the sheet of material after the oxide formation operation is performed. The thermal compression applies thermal energy to the sheet of material while applying pressure to the sheet of material. After the thermal compression, the capacitor is assembled such that at least one electrode in the capacitor includes at least a portion of the sheet of material.

  • Publication number: 20230214601
Abstract: Techniques for personalizing an AI automated conversational system are provided. In one aspect, a method for personalizing an automated conversational system includes: making predictions of a familiarity of a user with concepts needed to understand a standard output utterance based on the familiarity of an aggregate of users and a background knowledge model of the concepts and related concepts, wherein the standard output utterance assumes that the concepts are known; and giving, by the automated conversational system, an output utterance that is tailored to the user given the predictions. For instance, the automated conversational system can give the standard output utterance to the user when it is predicted that the user is familiar with the concepts, or a nonstandard output utterance when it is it is predicted that the user is unfamiliar with at least one of the concepts.

  • Publication number: 20230195490
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system are provided. A machine hypervisor builds and enqueue a zeroize adjunct processor (AP) domain (ZAPD) common command request message to a target AP domain queue. Machine firmware validates the enqueued common command request message on the target AP domain queue. The machine firmware converts the ZAPD command request to the mode-specific form of the domain zeroize request. A command request message is executed at an AP crypto adapter of the target AP domain. Executing includes zeroizing a storage area of the AP crypto adapter. The execution results are returned to the machine firmware. The machine firmware converts the crypto card mode's ZAPD command reply message into the common ZAPD command reply message. The final execution results including the converted common ZAPD command reply message are returned to the machine hypervisor.

The method also includes automatically segmenting, via the processor, the heterogeneous regions from the tomographic image to generate a segmented image. The method further includes automatically identifying, via the processor, a plurality of regions of interest having varying attenuation coefficients within the tomographic image based on the segmented image. The method still further includes automatically labeling, via the processor, each region of interest of the plurality of regions of interest as representing a particular material of the plurality of materials. • Patent number: 11645154
Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system are provided. An adjunct processor receives an indication to reset a message queue. The reset removes all messages from the message queue on the adjunct processor. The reset is in response to a hardware failure or an external manual operation. An operation to enqueue a message to the message queue is received. Based on completing a successful enqueue operation, the adjunct processor sets a status that includes an indication that the enqueue operation is a first operation following the reset. A requestor receives the indication of the first operation. Based on the internal count of pending messages being greater than one, the requestor requeues to the adjunct processor, the message requests, except for the first message, having outstanding replies, and resets the indication of the first enqueue operation upon the requeuing of the message requests being complete.
