Patent number: 11985064Abstract: A detection mechanism is disclosed for identifying peers transmitting network traffic towards a cloud provider using routing prefixes that were not advertised for that peer. Once detected, an alarm condition can occur and the peer notified to remove any static route configurations. In one embodiment, a collector server computer can be used to acquire routing prefixes advertised to a peer. A second server computer can be used to obtain network traffic received from the peer. A comparison can then be made between the advertised prefixes and the network traffic being received. If network traffic is being received for unadvertised prefixes, then an alarm condition can occur. The detection mechanism can regularly inspect active traffic flows against BGP route advertisements at fixed intervals. For peers that are identified that are not in compliance with route advertisements, the alarm condition can occur for follow-up remediation.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 2022Date of Patent: May 14, 2024Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Christine Estefania Morales Hernandez, Ahmed Negm, Thomas Bradley Scholl, Suresh Ambalavanan, Keerthi Krishnan, Michael W. Patent number: 11615115Abstract: Various aspects provide for implementation of a cloud service for running, monitoring, and maintaining cloud distributed database deployments and in particular examples, provides cloud based services to run, monitor and maintain deployments of the known MongoDB database. Various embodiments provide services, interfaces, and manage provisioning of dedicated servers for the distributed database instances (e.g., MongoDB instances). Further aspects, including providing a database as a cloud service that eliminates the design challenges associated with many distributed database implementations, while allowing the client's input on configuration choices in building the database. In some implementations, clients can simply identity a number of database nodes, capability of the nodes, and within minutes have a fully functioning, scalable, replicated, and secure distributed database in the cloud.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2017Date of Patent: March 28, 2023Assignee: MongoDB, Inc.Inventors: Eliot Horowitz, John Morales, Cory P. Publication number: 20230010652Abstract: In some embodiments, an auto-index system may be provided to determine one or more candidate indexes to be automatically created in a database system. The auto-index system may determine if one or more criteria associated with creating the one or more candidate indexes are met. In response to determining that the one or more criteria associated with creating the one or more candidate indexes are met, the auto-index system may automatically create the one or more candidate indexes, for example, by an automation agent. The one or more criteria may also be associated with respective performance metrics of the database system.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2022Publication date: January 12, 2023Applicant: MongoDB, Inc.Inventors: Cailin Anne Nelson, John Morales, Jonathan Balsano, Isabel Peters, Mark Porter

Patent number: 9465630Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products for provisioning a virtual machine are disclosed. A request to provision a virtual machine is received. Resources are identified and utilization of the resources determined for each cluster of the plurality of virtual machine clusters, the resources comprising internet protocol (IP) addresses, memory and CPUs. The availability of clusters is analyzed based on the determined resource utilization for each cluster. The analysis includes assigning dynamic weights to resources of each cluster and calculating an availability of each cluster. A cluster availability report is output indicating an availability status for each virtual machine cluster. A system for provisioning a virtual machine includes a provision manager, a resource determiner, an availability analyzer and an availability reporter.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2013Date of Patent: October 11, 2016Assignee: CA, Inc.Inventors: Henry Muniz, Julio Quintana, Jr., Orlando J. Patent number: 4064450Abstract: A solid state simulator of an automobile ignition system is disclosed whereby an automotive engine scope tester can be tested and calibrated. Pulse rate logic is made responsive to means for selecting the number of cylinders and the revolutions per minute of the simulated engine. Variable pulse generation means is made responsive to the pulse rate logic. The output of the pulse generation means is used to trigger a driver connected to a conventional coil and single spark plug simulating the firing of all the spark plugs in the engine. Additionally, the output of the pulse generation means is divided and used to drive an adjustable delay which in turn triggers a one shot high voltage pulse to simulate the firing of the spark plug associated with the number one cylinder. Signal output terminals are provided at the input to the coil to indicate the time of each firing signal and allow feedback control by the engine scope tester.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1976Date of Patent: December 20, 1977Assignee: Beckman Instruments, Inc.Inventors: Michael John Morales, George I.
