  • Publication number: 20060125928
Abstract: An image capture device and methods are provided. The image capture device has a scene image capture system adapted to capture an image of a scene and a user image capture system adapted to capture an image of a user of the image capture device. A trigger system adapted to generate a capture signal and a controller is adapted to receive the capture signal and to cause an image to be captured by the user image capture system and the scene image capture system at substantially the same time. The controller is further adapted to associate the image of the user with the image of the scene.

  • Publication number: 20060119734
Abstract: A docking station is provided. The docking station has a base with a digital camera receiving area adapted to position a digital camera so that the digital camera is directed at an object mount. The object mount is adapted to position a subject object at a distance of less than one meter from a lens system of the digital camera. A communication circuit is adapted to exchange data between the dock controller and a camera controller in the digital camera when the digital camera is in the digital camera receiving area. The exchange of data causes the camera controller to adapt a setting of an image capture system in the camera for the capture of an image of the subject object.

  • Publication number: 20060093344
Abstract: A camera, such as a digital camera, or a video camera, with a flash and/or a light source and further having a lens with an imaging axis includes a light transferring device, and a flash dispersion structure disposed around the imaging axis of the lens. The flash is located on the housing of the camera and provides light via a flash to the light-transferring device. The light-transferring device directs the light from the flash to the flash dispersion structure. The flash dispersion structure directs the light onto an object of interest.

  • Publication number: 20060093338
Abstract: In one aspect of the invention, a camera is provided. The camera has a photosensitive element; a light blocking expansion structure combined with the photosensitive element to form a light tight chamber there between. The light blocking expansion structure has an aperture to focus light from a scene to form an image on the photosensitive element; the light blocking expansion structure is adapted to automatically expand from an initial position to an extended position, with expansion of the expansion structure position in the aperture relative to the photosensitive element. Expansion of the expansion structure drives a shutter system to start and end an exposure of the photosensitive element to light from the scene. A trigger system is manually operable so as to initiate expansion of the expansion structure from the initial position.

  • Publication number: 20060044399
Abstract: Imaging systems and methods for operating an imaging system capable of forming images based upon adjustable image capture settings and a viewing frame in which evaluation images of a scene are observable are provided. In accordance with the method, an initial viewing distance is detected from the viewing frame to an anatomical feature of a user; determining an initial image capture setting. A change in the viewing distance is detected and a revised image capture setting is determined based upon an extent of the change in the change in the viewing distance. The image capture setting is adjusted based upon the revised image capture setting.

  • Publication number: 20050134707
Abstract: An accessory is provided for use with an image capture device is provided. The accessory has a trigger button and an image capture system adapted to capture an image in response to actuation of the trigger button. The accessory also has a body adapted to be detachably connectable to the image capture device with the body including, a holding unit for receiving a removable metadata source having metadata stored therein; a communication interface for communicating with the removable metadata source; and a trigger sensor for generating a trigger signal when the trigger button of said image capture device is depressed. The communication interface obtains metadata from the removable metadata source in response to the trigger signal and stores the metadata in a metadata memory so that the metadata is associated with the captured image.
