  • Publication number: 20070167818
Abstract: A force measurement device and system, the device being for insertion into an internal body cavity of a human. The probe comprises (a) a probe head having a dimension suitable for insertion into the body cavity; (b) a load cell operatively connected to the probe head such that forces on the probe head are transmitted to the load cell; and (c) a relatively rigid portion joined to the probe head by a relatively flexible portion such that the probe head is flexibly joined to the relatively rigid portion and can move laterally with respect to a longitudinal center line of the relatively rigid portion.

  • Publication number: 20070167819
Abstract: A method for determining material properties of internal tissues of a body, the method comprising the steps of: a. providing force measuring device, b. providing an imaging means for acquiring images of deformation or displacement of tissues inside a body cavity; c. providing a calculation means for quantifying displacement of internal tissues; d. inserting at least a portion of said probe head into the body cavity; e. applying force with said probe head against an internal body tissue; f. measuring said force applied to said internal body tissue; g. acquiring images of displacement of said internal body tissue; h. calculating said displacement of said internal body tissue; and i. calculating material properties from said measured force and said calculated displacement.

  • Publication number: 20060191985
Abstract: An erectable and collapsible container including a plurality of side walls joined along a plurality of wall hinges providing articulation between the side walls. A bottom wall is attached to the side walls at edge hinges providing articulation between the side walls and the bottom wall. At least one flexible gusset portion is provided extending between one or more of the side walls and the bottom wall, and the gusset portion is movable with the bottom wall in response to movement of the side walls and the bottom wall between collapsed and erected configurations. Structure is provided for maintaining the side walls in the erected configuration such that the side walls define a generally rigid or semi-rigid structure. A pair of opposed flexible panels extend from the side walls and define a bag-like upper portion extending from the support structure and forming a sealable opening for the container.

  • Publication number: 20060193541
Abstract: A container including a support structure defined by a side wall portion and a bottom wall portion. An upper portion is integrally attached to the support structure, where the upper portion is formed of a flexible material defining opposing portions. The flexible material has a lower stiffness than a stiffness of the side wall portion, and the opposing portions are movable between a closed position located in engagement with each other and an open position where the opposing portions are separated from each other defining an opening to an interior area of the container.

  • Publication number: 20060191929
Abstract: An erectable and collapsible container including a support structure formed by a bottom wall and a pair of opposing end walls articulable relative to the bottom wall about respective hinges. The end walls include flexi-resilient sections connected along hinges for articulated movement of the end walls between collapsed and erected configurations. A pair of flexible opposing side walls extend between the end walls and include sections foldable about hinges during articulated movement of the end walls. A pair of opposed flexible panels extend from the side walls and define a bag-like upper portion extending from the support structure and forming a sealable opening for the container.
