  • Publication number: 20090313148
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of enabling a computer network transaction for a product being purchased by a buyer from a seller, comprising the steps of generating a once-only transaction identification means associated with the transaction, providing the transaction identification means to a transaction acquirer, together with a buyer identification means which identifies the buyer to the transaction acquirer, and providing the once-only identification means to the seller, whereby the seller may provide the transaction identification means to the transaction acquirer and the transaction acquirer can match the transaction identification means received from the seller with the transaction identification means they have been provided with and, if they match, can enable settlement of the transaction.

  • Patent number: 7628269
Abstract: A countdown timer contact lens case is provided for removably receiving a receptacle and providing independent timing functions for displaying the useful remaining life of a contact lens and for the receptacle for receiving the contact lens when not worn. The countdown timer contact lens case includes a receptacle carried by a main body. The main body includes a timing circuit and a display with first and second indicators corresponding to the respective remaining time for desired use of the lens and for the receptacle. The timer for the lens displays a maximum value which is less than the displayed maximum value of the timer for the receptacle. The timer corresponding to each of the lens and the receptacle can be independent set and reset, and a warning feature is provided to signal the user when the corresponding displayed lens or receptacle value diminishes below a minimum, or decreases to zero.

  • Patent number: 7485148
Abstract: An acetabular component prosthesis adapted for affixation in a recess in a pelvis, comprising: a cup shell having a generally convex outer surface adapted to be in contact with the bone in use, a generally concave inner surface and a rim; at least one pair of substantially adjacent flanges extending from the outer surface of the cup at a point proximal to the rim of the cup and angled at angle ? downwardly thereto; one flange of the pair being at an equal but opposite angle ? to a plane extending across the apex of each of the flanges to the other of the pair; and at least one aperture in each of the pair of flanges through which in use fixation means may be passed to fix the cup into the recess in the pelvis.

  • Publication number: 20040230677
Abstract: A system and method isolates a network management system from the network components that it monitors and controls. A network management system is connected to a port other than the network port of the network components via a terminal server. The terminal server performs translations between communications to and from the serial ports and communications to and from the network management system. In this manner, connectivity between the management device and the network components is through a protocol which is not networkable, routable or both by the managed network device.

  • Patent number: 6415846
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a turbocharger including a housing with a compressor housing portion, turbine housing portion, and a connecting portion is such that an appropriate attitude setting for various portions is preselected, and the housing is then manufactured using a casting technique. The geometry of the connecting portion is circular and concentric with respect to a common center line passing through all three portions.

  • Patent number: 6125680
Abstract: A rivet delivery device is provided for transferring a rivet from a rivet passage to a nose piece of a pulling head and jaw case mechanism. The rivet delivery device is air driven to extend forwardly of the rivet setting tool and rotates to present a rivet in front of the jaws and then transfers the rivet into the jaws. The angular rotation and stroke length of the rivet delivery device can be easily adjusted. A double-acting piston is driven in both directions by positive air pressure to extend and rotate the delivery device in front of the nose piece and returning the rivet delivery device after rivet transfer. The use of a double-acting piston greatly enhances the speed at which the, rivet delivery device can operate.

  • Patent number: 5160259
Abstract: A draft control for material processing apparatus, such as asphalt plants, having a chamber through which material to be processed is passed for contact with combustion gases and heat originating in a fuel supplied burner which may require a draft to draw air into the chamber for complete combustion of burner supplied fuel and to exhaust the products of combustion and other gaseous materials from the chamber. The air pollutants and the percent oxygen in the exhausted gases are monitored, and the draft is adjusted between minimum and maximum values for a given burner set point when the air pollutant content of the stack gases exceeds a predetermined maximum limit. The direction of draft adjustment is determined by the percent oxygen in the exhaust gases.
