  • Patent number: 5080409
Abstract: A door lock actuating mechanism particularly suited for used with a multi-panel rolling overhead garage door having an automatic opener attached thereto by a connecting bar. The mechanism fits between the connecting bar and the top door panel and a pull cable operating the locking bolt(s) is also connected thereto. There is an attaching member attached to the top panel and a sliding pendulum bar to which the connecting bar and cable are connected. When the door is opened, the pendulum bar slides to an unlocked position where it is latched by the force of gravity thus holding the locking bolt(s) in an unlocked position during door movement. The pendulum bar and locking bolt(s) are only released when the attaching member returns to the vertical position upon door closing.

  • Patent number: 4996795
Abstract: This is an automatic locking and unlocking mechanism for use with an automatic garage door opening system. A spring-biased locking bar is attached to the garage door for vertical sliding motion. There is a pivot plate mounted to the top of the garage door including a pair of vertical members with a pivot pin disposed between them. A lock-lifting arm is disposed between the vertical members with the pivot pin through a first hole at one end. A connecting cable is connected between a second hole at the other end of the lock-lifting arm and the locking bar. A slider member is disposed between the vertical members and has the operating arm of the automatic garage door opener connected thereto for sliding the slider member. The slider member includes a lifting slot operably connected to the lock-lifting arm for lifting the lock-lifting arm when the slider member is slid to an open and unlocked position and for lowering the lock-lifting arm when the slider member is slid to a closed and locked position.

  • Patent number: 4494431
Abstract: A portable radial arm saw having a base for attachment to a work table, a post mounted to the base and carrying horizontally oriented rails for adjustable vertical movement. The rails support a carriage from which is suspended a circular saw. Interconnections between the carriage and the circular saw enable movement of the saw about both horizontal and vertical axes. Such interconnections include a bracket extending across the circular saw motor for attachment to forward structure of the circular saw base plate, a rearward portion of the bracket extending downwardly and rearwardly between the handle and safety guard of the saw for attachment to rearward structure of the saw base plate. Various embodiments of the bracket adapt the bracket for attachment to many types of portable circular saws.

  • Patent number: 4315732
Abstract: Welding apparatus which includes a fuel container for liquefied gas, an oxygen generator, a burner nozzle, and a flow control system for conveying a controlled amount of gas and oxygen from the fuel container and oxygen generator to the burner nozzle for combustion. The oxygen generator includes a reactor which contains a catalyst for decomposing the oxygen generating compound to produce oxygen and water and accompanying heat. Heated oxygen and water from the reaction are carried to a collection chamber by a condenser system which condenses substantially all of the water. An evaporator system carries oxygen from the collection chamber to the flow control system. In one embodiment it is arranged in thermal association with the reactor so that the heat of the reaction is utilized to vaporize any water entrained in the oxygen coming from the collection chamber, thereby promoting proper combustion of the oxygen and fuel at the burner nozzle.
