Abstract: A system and computer program product for differentiating reward programs that use the same identity holder. This differentiation allows different businesses to offer their own tailored rewards program while the consumer has the convenience of using a single identity holder. Moreover, the system and computer program product provide for integrating proximity and affinity into multi-business rewards programs. Finally, the system and computer program product provide for members of a consumer membership organization to receive rewards based on their membership, thus allowing the organization to receive financial incentives based on encouraging their members to shop at certain businesses.

Abstract: In a mobile communications network, each subscriber is allocated a unique identity code and is provided with a card (a SIM card) bearing that code which provides subscriber access to the system. A list of identity codes together with corresponding subscriber details are stored in a first store. When a card is to be replaced, a new identity code is created for the subscriber and is stored in the first store and in a second store. A mapping is provided between the new identity code and the corresponding existing subscriber identity code. The new identity code is then associated with the corresponding subscriber details and is activated while the existing code is de-activated.

Abstract: In a cellular communications system comprising a plurality of zones, details of authorized services for each mobile terminal are stored at a central register. The central register is accessed on entry of a visiting mobile terminal into that zone whereby to retrieve the service details for that mobile, the retrieved details are stored at a local register and compared with a set of services capable of being supported within the zone, and providing to the terminal information relating only to those services that are both authorized for use by the terminal and capable of support within the zone. In a preferred embodiment, information relating to a service which cannot be supported in a particular zone is not forwarded to the local register thus avoiding message rejection by the local register.
