  • Patent number: 11814266
Abstract: An illustrative example embodiment of an elevator system includes a platform and a plurality of supports configured to selectively engage a nearby structure. The plurality of supports include at least a first support and a second support. The first and second supports alternate between engaging the nearby structure to support the platform while the other one of the supports is disengaged from the nearby structure. At least one of the first and second supports is configured to move relative to the platform while engaging the nearby structure to cause vertical movement of the platform.

  • Publication number: 20230356856
Abstract: The present disclosure provides modular hydrogen-fuel storage assemblies with an external form factor corresponding to Unit Load Device (ULD) cargo containers, allowing the assemblies to be easily loaded into and stored in a cargo bay area of an aircraft. Each assembly can house one or more hydrogen fuel tanks containing liquid and gaseous hydrogen, which can be used to power an APU or other power system of the aircraft. Each assembly can include an internal cradle system for securing the tanks within the assembly, a ground servicing panel for refueling, a quick connection assembly for quickly coupling the assembly to the APU or other power system, a cold box for managing various fluid flow, and an avionics bay for controlling the various components of the assembly.

  • Patent number: 11525544
Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for producing a hydrogen storage vessel that is lightweight. The hydrogen storage vessel may comprise an inner body and an outer body structured as concentric rings with a conic interface. The vessel may have four material layers, including a barrier layer, an insulation layer, a fiber knit, and an abrasion layer. The fiber knit may be braided to trap the hydrogen, as the barrier layer may not be completely impermeable. Additionally, the fiber braid may be clamped to the outer body, enabling pressure pushing on the inner body to wedge and seal the storage vessel.
