  • Patent number: 8516017
Abstract: The disclosure herein provides systems and methods for a media enhancement system configured to associate a secondary media signal (for example, the secondary media signal can comprise an advertisement) to a primary media signal (for example, a radio broadcast). The disclosure herein additionally provides systems and methods for a media enhancement system that enables the generating, transmitting, displaying, and/or responding to a plurality of associated and/or unassociated secondary media signals, based on a primary media content from a primary media signal, user characteristics (for example, demographic and/or geographic information), and/or third-party preferences (for example, the goals of advertisers). The secondary media signals can be used to enhance the primary media content already being provided to the user on a user device. The secondary media signals can also be used to create psychological associations or relationships with the primary media content already being provided to the user.

  • Publication number: 20120158905
Abstract: In certain embodiments, a device for outputting updated messages a determinate number of times is provided. The device may comprise an output, an input, one or more processors, a memory, code stored in the memory and executed by the processor, wherein at least one message is received from time to time by the device through the input, and wherein the code selects if and when the at least one message is to be provided on the device via the output a determinate number of times. The operation of the enabled device can allow the message to be delivered to the user as the result of some action in regards to enabled device usage.

  • Publication number: 20090205000
Abstract: The various embodiments disclosed herein provide methods, systems, and devices for capturing broadcast streams, analyzing the broadcast streams to obtain information about the media content transmitted in the broadcast streams, obtaining additional information about the media content if available, and assigning a unique event identifier specific to the instance of broadcast of the broadcast stream and/or media segment transmitted in the broadcast stream. In other embodiments, the unique event identifier is broadcasted to broadcast receiving devices. With the unique event identifier, broadcast receiving devices can access the obtained information associated with the media content.

  • Publication number: 20090183208
Abstract: The user can respond to a media segment wherein the media segment may be associated with a schedulable event. Software on the device can then schedule the event into an electronic calendar system, and/or may use data associated with the media segment. At the appropriate time, the electronic calendar system may notify the user of the scheduled broadcast and/or event.

  • Patent number: 6085282
Abstract: A non-volatile memory (12) such as FLASH provides for two modes of operation: command mode and memory mode. Read requests in command mode read non-volatile memory status information, such as from status registers (29). Reads in memory mode return data stored in a non-volatile memory array (20, 22). A command mode read is distinguished from a memory mode read by whether a command mode indication is received within the same memory cycle as a read indication. The command read indication may be an operand address within a prespecified range of memory addresses or through a dedicated input pin. The prespecified memory addresses may be memory-mapped to status registers (29), allowing reads of status registers (29) when an operand address is within the prespecified range without the necessity of entering and leaving command mode, and otherwise to data (20, 22) stored in the non-volatile memory (12).

  • Patent number: 5822244
Abstract: A flash memory (12) has a plurality of banks of memory cells (20, 22). If a read operation of the flash memory (12) is required to the same bank of memory cells in which a program/erase operation is being performed, the program/erase operation is automatically suspended while the read operation is performed. Also, a wait signal is asserted by the flash memory (12) to indicate to a processor (10) that the program/erase operation is being suspended. After the program/erase operation is suspended, the wait signal is negated. If multiple read operations are requested, all the read operations are performed before the program/erase operation resumes.
