Abstract: A communications system for an alarm panel including: an alarm panel adaptor in operable communication with the alarm panel generating analog alarm signals; a first powerline communications device in operable communication with a the alarm panel adaptor converting the analog alarm signals to powerline alarm signals; a second powerline communications device receiving the powerline alarm signals over an electrical grid and converting the powerline alarm signals to internet protocol alarm signals; and a broadband connection in operable communication with the second powerline communications device for transmitting the internet protocol alarm signals to a remote central control station.

Abstract: A directory channel broadcasts or otherwise communicates an electronic communications directory to a media delivery device for presentment, storage, and/or integration with other directory content. The media delivery device may include an integrated multimedia device, such as an audiovisual (AV) device. Alternatively, the media delivery device and the AV device may be stand-alone devices such as an STB coupled or otherwise connected with a TV.

Abstract: A user may use an input terminal, a remote control device, and/or an alternate device to select an electronic communications directory to access, or alternatively, to download and store to memory of a media delivery device. A directory assist and connect module includes instructions and/or commands that enable the user to access, enter, modify, forward, and/or select a directory listing to establish a communications link. For example, the user may select a directory listing from a White Pages directory and/or a Yellow Pages directory provided by a local service provider and input instructions to establish a communications connection with the selected directory listing from the media delivery device or via a communications device communicating with the media delivery device.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to a method, system, and storage medium for providing control over transactions. The method includes prompting a primary user to input financial notification data. The financial notification data is used to define transaction controls associated with a secondary user. The method also includes receiving and storing the financial notification data. The method further includes receiving data relating to a financial transaction from a point of sale. The data is associated with the secondary user. The method also includes retrieving financial notification data related to the financial transaction and sending a notification to the point of sale based upon the data relating to the financial transaction.

Abstract: A method for providing a wireless fidelity hotspot locator including receiving a communication from a communications device requesting to locate a wireless fidelity hotspot. A location of the communications device is determined. A wireless fidelity hotspot site that corresponds to the location is determined. Address information for the hotspot site is transmitted to the communications device.
