  • Publication number: 20190363666
Abstract: A battery powered rotary tool having a housing extender coaxially affixable to an end of the rotary tool tubular housing, a rechargeable battery, a motor driver circuit, mounted with a microprocessor coupled to a solid-state switch circuit which connects the motor of the rotary tool to the battery; and a user interface mounted to the housing extender having a user input and at least one indicator light. The microprocessor is configured to, in response to a user providing a signal via the user input, provide a signal to the solid-state switch circuit sending a power input to the motor so it can be switched between at least the following modes of motor operation: forward rotation, reverse rotation, an alternating forward-reverse pulsation, and OFF. A rotary swab for use therewith is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20150216722
Abstract: An ultrasonic eye cleaning device comprises a body having an internal cavity and an end. The device further comprises a motor within the internal cavity, wherein the motor has a rotating output member. The device further comprises a chuck driven by the rotating output member of the motor. The device further comprises a piezo driver cooperating with the body and at least one of the rotating output member or the chuck to oscillate the chuck at 20 kHz to 100 MHz. The device further comprises an instrument that is attachable to the chuck and defining a free end forming a cleaning swab.

  • Publication number: 20140214062
Abstract: An instrument for removing debris from an eye during the treatment of an ocular disorder has a swab and a rigid member. The swab includes a tip portion sized to provide access to the debris on an eyelid of the eye. The rigid member has a distal end portion affixed to the swab and a proximal end portion with a cross-sectional member profile. The cross-sectional member profile is non-circular and has a first groove. The first groove extends longitudinally along the proximal end portion for cooperating with a chuck such that rotation of the proximal end portion within the chuck is inhibited.
