  • Publication number: 20120043471
Abstract: Devices and methods for the characterization of areas of radiation in contaminated rooms are provided. One such device is a collimator with a collimator shield for reducing noise when measuring radiation. A position determination system is provided that may be used for obtaining position and orientation information of the detector in the contaminated room. A radiation analysis method is included that is capable of determining the amount of radiation intensity present at known locations within the contaminated room. Also, a visual illustration system is provided that may project images onto the physical objects, which may be walls, of the contaminated room in order to identify the location of radioactive materials for decontamination.

  • Patent number: 5004007
Abstract: An improved surface controlled chemical injection valve and method for injecting chemical fluid into the bore of a tubing string of a well are provided, the chemical injection valve having at least one piston movable in response to the pressure of the chemical fluid, an actuator connected to the piston, and a flow restrictor wherein the pressure of the chemical fluid supplied to the valve from the chemical fluid source acts on the piston to cause the actuator to open the valve and inject the chemical fluid into the tubing string bore. The flow restrictor is mounted downstream of the piston to create sufficient available pressure in the chemical fluid upstream of the flow restrictor to act on the piston and hold the valve in the open position.

  • Patent number: H635
Abstract: An injection mandrel and method for introducing treating fluids into a well comprise a center pocket mandrel having a check valve in fluid communication with treating fluid in the annulus of the well and with a chemical injection valve in the mandrel. Treating fluid is pumped through the check valve and the chemical injection valve into the produced fluids in the mandrel, while reverse flow is prevented. In another embodiment a dip tube communicating with the injection valve pocket places treating fluid at a preselected location in the well.
