  • Publication number: 20140178661
Abstract: A fibrous substrate comprising a consolidated product of a fiber composition is provided comprising polyimide fibers; fibers selected from aromatic polyamide fibrids or polycarbonate fibers; aromatic polyamide fibers. A process of preparing a fibrous substrate is disclosed, comprising forming a layer from a slurry comprising a suspension solvent; and fiber composition comprising a combination of polyimide fibers; aromatic polyamide fibers; aromatic polyamide fibrids; each based on the total weight of the fibers in the fiber composition; dewatering the layer; and consolidating the layer to form the fibrous substrate; wherein a layer of polyimide fiber aromatic polyamide fibrid is applied to each surface of the fibrous substrate either before or after said consolidating step, and the substrate and polyimide layers are together subjected to a consolidating step. In another embodiment, articles comprising the above fibrous substrates are provided.

  • Patent number: 6303224
Abstract: This invention is directed to a tie layer for improving the adhesion of a layer of a fluoride-based polymeric material to a layer of a polyphenylene ether- or polystyrene-based material. The tie layer comprises a copolymer of a styrenic material like high impact polystyrene, and an acrylic material such as poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). The tie layer composition may further include at least one flexibilizing agent which is compatible with one of the materials in the other layers. Exemplary flexibilizing agents are blends or copolymers which comprise rubber and polystyrene, or core-shell impact modifiers, or combinations of these types of materials. The layers can be coextruded or laminated, using conventional techniques.

  • Patent number: 6262550
Abstract: An integrated motor monitoring system collects, analyzes, and stores to database(s) on-line and off-line coordinated real-time motor data for industrial AC and DC motors. On-line coordinated real-time motor data from both on-motor sensors and remote sensors at a motor control center are collected simultaneously and processed. Off-line measurements are performed with integrated stimulus and measurement apparatus. Monitoring units at the motor and motor control center each collect specific data on the motor. The database provides current and historical data on the motor for analyses conducted at the motor or at the motor control center. Additionally the motor monitoring system has the capability of relating motor system or process events with motor performance.
