  • Patent number: 4145834
Abstract: An animal trap of the type including an open top vessel suitable for trapping or drowning an animal is disclosed. The animal is attracted to a fixed platform disposed above the open top vessel. A thrust plate, set to sweep across the platform, is disposed above the vessel. A trigger sensitive to the presence of the animal is disposed on the platform. The trigger is operably connected to the thrust plate so that upon sensing the presence of the animal on the platform, the thrust plate is released, thereby sweeping the animal off the platform and into the vessel where the animal is trapped or drowned.
