    Abstract: A pump monitoring device is configured to be connected to a case drain of a pump. The device includes a manifold having an inlet for connection to the case drain. A flow rate sensor generates a signal indicative of a flow rate of fluid in a fluid path. The flow rate sensor includes a temperature sensor, a heater, and a sensor barrel. The heater heats the sensor barrel while in fluid communication with the fluid. A pressure sensor generates a signal indicative of a pressure of the fluid. There is at least one fault indicator operatively coupled to at least one of the flow rate sensor, the temperature sensor, and the pressure sensor. The fault indicator provides a human perceptible indication that at least one of a sensed flow rate, a sensed temperature, or a sensed pressure of the fluid flowing in the fluid path exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

    Abstract: A uniform resource locator (URL) link inserted into a note or document can be enhanced through a capture service for curation and collaboration applications, including notebook applications. A local notebook application can call the capture service by sending a request for a webpage representation with a URL indicated for insertion into the note. The local notebook application can receive the representation of the content referenced by the URL in a format customized for the local client. The representation can be displayed as part of a preview window and user interface for inserting a clipping, URL or other content into a note. The capture service can take the URL sent by the local application and take a screenshot of a separately rendered webpage referenced by the URL.

    Abstract: A multi-purpose stylus and method for communicating and interacting with a computing device both through physical contact and wirelessly. Embodiments of the stylus and method facilitate the use of the stylus as both a physical input instrument (by contacting a surface of the computing device to input data) and as a remote wireless instrument using a variety of auxiliary devices. Many types and combinations of auxiliary devices may be incorporated into embodiments of the stylus and method. These include one or more microphones and speakers, a laser pointer, a camera, a color sensor for obtaining color coordinates of an object, and an accelerometer to identify and interpret user gestures. Moreover, identification and authentication of a user may be achieved by including a fingerprint sensor and an identification device having a unique identifier. A transceiver is used to wireless communicate and control remote devices and the computing device.

    Abstract: A method of pulse shaping a spread signal of serially formatted in-phase (I) and quadrature (Q) waveforms, where each waveform includes a predetermined number of chips per symbol, includes (a) examining adjacent chips of the I and Q waveforms at a symbol boundary; and (b) determining that one of the I or Q waveforms, includes two adjacent first and second chips separated by a single chip period, where the first chip belongs to a previous symbol and the second chip belongs to a present symbol. If the chips are of the same value, the method extends a peak value between the first and second chips, and zeros the other waveform of the I or Q waveform during the extended duration. If the chips are of opposite values, then the method zeroes one of the chips and inserts a chip into the other waveform.

The waveform is serially demodulated into a serial baseband signal and serially correlated with segments of the symbol SYNC sequence. Correlation strength estimates of each of the serially correlated output signal are computed and combined to detect a coarse SYNC. The serially correlated output signals are phase corrected based upon phase change conditions and the phase corrected signals are used to detect a fine SYNC.
