  • Publication number: 20060263566
Abstract: A method and configuration are provided for joining a facing having periodic rows of perforations to insulation. Adhesive is applied to the perforated facing in a periodic pattern. The facing is joined to the insulation. The periodic pattern is offset from the rows of perforations, or the period of the pattern is different from the period of the rows of perforations, so that at least some of the perforations do not coincide with any of the pattern of adhesive.

  • Publication number: 20050229518
Abstract: An insulation product is provided comprising a sheet of randomly oriented fibers bonded by a binder. The sheet has first and second major surfaces and a pair of side portions. A facing layer is bonded to at least one of the major surfaces. A region of the sheet proximate to the facing layer is more puncture resistant than a remainder of the sheet.

  • Publication number: 20050218655
Abstract: A duct board includes a sheet, facing having a tab and adhesive applied to the tab. The sheet of the duct board has an outer surface and includes a male shiplap edge. The facing is located on the outer surface of the sheet. The tab of the facing extends substantially over the width of the male shiplap edge. The adhesive is applied to an inner surface of the tab.

  • Publication number: 20050066691
Abstract: Reinforced fiber insulation is formed by depositing a mixture of textile fiber segments and rotary and/or flame attenuated segments on a surface, mixing a binder with the fibers, and heating the binder to join the fibers together. The low cost process provides a mixed fiber insulation product with improved strength after compression.

  • Publication number: 20050031819
Abstract: A duct board or duct liner product is provided comprising an insulating layer formed from fibrous material bound with a resin binder; an outer facing layer adhered to an outer surface of the insulating layer; and a water repellant mat facing adhered to an interior surface of the insulating layer opposite the outer surface to form a duct board material, the mat facing having a weight of less than 1.1 lb/100 ft2 (53.6 g/m2) and having at least an INDA 2 water repellence rating using the IST 80.6-92 water repellency test method.
