  • Publication number: 20220154415
Abstract: A hydraulic actuator that can be used on trip plows to hold the trip blade in its operative downward position and to control the return of the trip blade after tripping. The actuator has a body with first and second ends. A piston rod reciprocates within the tube. A plate with a channel is positioned within the tube a spaced distance from the tube ends. The plate creates an oil reservoir between the plate and the piston rod. A reciprocating piston is positioned within the tube between the second end and the plate. A spring is mounted between the second end and the reciprocating piston and normally biases the reciprocating piston into engagement with the channel normally closing the channel. The piston rod moves in the direction of the plate when the trip blade hits an obstruction, forcing the oil through the channel moving the reciprocating piston and opening the channel allowing oil to flow into an oil chamber created between the reciprocating piston and the plate.

  • Publication number: 20210300642
Abstract: This present invention discloses an identification tag for containers for informing a user as to what type of hazardous material is stored in a fuel container. The identification tag for container is a shaped disc inside a tag cover and attached to the container. The identification tag for the containers features a rotating or changeable disc with different labels or regions for the hazardous materials. The device also allows users to set the disc at a specific label and then attach the tag to the container via the clip, and ensures the proper hazardous material type is identified within the container.

  • Patent number: 9793686
Abstract: A semiconductor device comprising a silicon substrate on which is grown a <100 nm thick epilayer of AlAs or related compound, followed by a compound semiconductor other than GaN buffer layer. Further III-V compound semiconductor structures can be epitaxially grown on top. • Publication number: 20090184383
Abstract: A semiconductor photodetector is disclosed which can have a high responsivity, high saturation power, and high bandwidth. The photodetector comprises a waveguide structure comprising: an active waveguide comprising an absorber for converting photons conveying an optical signal into charge carriers conveying a corresponding electrical signal; a carrier collection layer for transporting the charge carriers conveying the electrical signal; and a secondary waveguide immediately adjacent to the carrier collection layer, for receiving the photons to be detected, and which is evanescently coupled to the active waveguide. The secondary passive waveguide layer in the photodetector epitaxial structure enables the use of fast carrier transport material to generate high intrinsic bandwidth and travelling wave techniques associated with a scheme of evanescent coupling to increase the responsivity, saturated output power and bandwidth.

  • Publication number: 20080124087
Abstract: A method of transmission of radio signals over all types of graded-index multimode fibre is provided. The method comprises launching optical radiation into the core of the multimode fibre with a specified restricted launch to allow multiple trans-verse mode lasers transmitters to be used in low cost radio over fibre links. The launch technique allows a reduction in modal dispersion and modal interference, thus greatly improving the transmission performance of radio over fibre signals over multimode fibre as well as reducing system impairments such as outages and link failures.

  • Patent number: 7198068
Abstract: A pigtailing machine includes a B forming head and a support pedestal secured to a cassette base. The cassette base is located upon a base which mounts the A forming head to provide for a relatively quick changeover should another double pigtail coil spring need be manufactured. By fixing the forming head and the support pedestal to the cassette base alignment and proper manufacture of the spring is assured. Alternatively, the A forming head is also mounted to the cassette base.

  • Publication number: 20020131841
Abstract: A self-tapping fastener or fastening peg secures a weatherseal to a mounting surface of an automotive vehicle. A pointed, conical nose pierces the weatherseal to form an opening. In the preferred embodiment, the fastening peg is rotated at a first velocity as it is axially advanced toward the weatherseal to create an opening. The fastening peg is further axially advanced and rotated at a second velocity to advance a first flange through the pierced opening, thereby securing the fastening peg to the weatherseal. The weatherseal is then secured to a vehicle mounting surface by advancing a locking assembly through a pre-formed opening in the mounting surface.
