  • Publication number: 20180066127
Abstract: An emulsion stabilizer includes a biopolymer blend of one or more cellulose ether and one or more cross-linked, modified starch wherein one or more of the cellulose ether or the cross-linked, modified starch is hydrophobically modified and wherein the total amount of cellulose ethers in the biopolymer blend is not greater than 50wt %. The invention further relates to emulsion compositions comprising the emulsion stabilizer, and particularly oil-in-water emulsions. In one embodiment the emulsions are suitable for use in personal care formulations.

  • Publication number: 20140338915
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cross-linked scale control agent particle comprising: a scale control agent and a cross-linker. The scale control agent is cross-linked by the cross-linker. The present invention is also directed to a cross-linked organic-based crystalline inhibitor particle comprising: an organic-based crystalline inhibitor and a cross-linker. The organic-based crystalline inhibitor is cross-linked by the cross-linker. The present invention is also directed to the use of cross-linkers which can also act as benefit agents and to the use of capping and extension agents which act as further benefit agents The present invention is further directed to a particle comprising more than one cross-linked active agents; the active agent may be a combination of a scale control agent and an organic-based crystalline inhibitor.

  • Patent number: 6174956
Abstract: A polyurethane polymer and method of preparing it is described. The process requires the combination of a soluble polyol with a di- or polyisocyanate under densified fluid conditions. The process to prepare a waterborne polyurethane involves the utilization of a polyol containing ionic or latent ionic groups which must undergo preneutralization before combining with the di- or polyisocyanate under densified fluid conditions. The resulting polyurethane is substantially free of an organic solvent.
