  • Patent number: 10384252
Abstract: Methods suitable for forming complex parts from work-hardened sheet materials of limited formability are described. The formability of the work-hardened sheet is enhanced by forming at elevated temperature. The forming temperature is preferably selected to minimally undo the effects of work hardening so that the formed part is of higher strength than a like part formed from an annealed sheet. The method is applicable to age-hardening and non-age-hardening aluminum and magnesium alloys.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 17, 2015
Date of Patent: August 20, 2019
Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC

  • Patent number: 8763625
Abstract: Apparatuses to enable single-point valve control of siphons, siphon pumps, metering siphon pumps, and turbine siphon pumps include terminal anti-backflow valves, a system flow control valve, a metering chamber, a self-regulating chamber, and a siphon turbine. The terminal anti-backflow valves provide automatically closable systems without further priming after an initial prime. The system flow control valve consolidates functions for priming, pumping, dispensing, and siphon flow regulation to provide single-point valve control. The metering chamber operated by a single-point system flow control valve enables periodic dispensing of liquid above a supply source. The self-regulating chamber controls a single-point system flow control valve to regulate a metering chamber for periodic dispensing. The siphon turbine provided with terminal anti-backflow valves and regulated by a single-point system flow control valve enables hydropower production.

  • Patent number: 5404962
Abstract: A collapsible support includes a cross member and a pair of collapsible support brackets having pairs of generally tubular legs extending therefrom. Each support bracket includes a generally planar base member secured to the cross member and a pivotally attached leg carrier. The leg pairs are secured to the leg carrier and are pivotable therewith from extended load bearing positions to collapsed storage or transport positions. A spring lock mechanism is provided which engages a portion of the leg carrier in the extended load bearing position and secures it in a releasable attachment in the load bearing position.
