  • Patent number: 5579791
Abstract: Apparatus for washing bottles, in which a transfer conveyor define an endless loop belt between an inlet end and outlet end. A plurality of cups are carried along the endless loop. An inlet elevator adjacent the inlet end supplies a quantity of bottles in an open end down orientation to the cups. Fluid injectors are movably mounted on the conveyor to position a nozzle into each open end down oriented bottle to supply fluid to inside of the bottles. An outlet elevator is adjacent outlet end for removing bottles from the apparatus in an open end up orientation.

  • Patent number: 4664277
Abstract: A closure adapted to hold in place a stopper in a container comprising a cap of cup-like form made of metal and having at least a portion thereof covered by a bondable material, said portion being detachably secured by fracturable means and a cover member bonded to said detachable portion actuatable with respect to the outer portion of the cap to separate said portion along said fracturable means from the remainder of the cap.

  • Patent number: 4511044
Abstract: A system and method for determining the integrity of a sealed container closure assembly wherein the closure is secured to the container by a force applying member and the integrity is determined by converting the force used to secure the closure into a force signal and comparing the force signal to a reference signal, which is reflective of the force used during a closure operation which resulted in seal integrity. The force signal which comprises a series of electrical signals is compared to a series of corresponding reference signals or is a single signal compared to a reference signal at a plurality of points during the closure operation. An indicator is used to indicate when a preselected number of acceptable or non-acceptable comparisons are reached.

  • Patent number: 4403707
Abstract: A combination TIP-OFF cap and container closure and sealing means adapted for operative assembly to a container to seal an access opening therein, thereby to seal the contents of the container. The cap comprises an elongated exterior top portion and an open ended skirt depending therefrom and formed integrally therewith. The skirt has a lower edge removably secured to the container adjacent the access opening. The combination TIP-OFF cap and closure sealing means is conjointly operatively connected to and removable from the container as an integrated unit to provide an access to the contents of the container by application of a lateral tilting force against the elongated cap exterior portion at a position remote from the connection of the cap to the container.

  • Patent number: 4384653
Abstract: A tip-off cap and closure for a container, for closure thereof, and sealing of the contents therein. The cap includes a narrow elongated exterior top portion, a peripherally enlarged open bottom skirt at the bottom thereof, and a container closure for an access opening, operatively disposed within the skirt and operatively integrated therewith. The integrated cap and closure are conjointly removable from the container, to open the container for access to the liquid therein, by application of a lateral tilting force against the narrow, elongated cap exterior at a position thereof remote from connection of the cap to the container. Removal of the integrated cap and closure seal means from the container is normally effected without breakage of the material forming the container. The cap and closure act as a unit assembly when being removed.
