The conductive lead is configured to electrically couple to battery circuitry for monitoring a voltage on the conductive foil to determine a fault condition. The battery circuitry may include measurement circuitry for measuring the voltage on the conductive foil and logic circuitry for determining a fault condition based on the measured voltage.

The cylindrical interstitial volume is typically vertically oriented, and defines an inlet at the bottom and an outlet at the top. The outer stator generates upwardly conveyed toroidal magnetic fields, which fields convey preferably from the bottom of the pump to the top of the pump liquid sodium in the cold leg of a sodium cooled nuclear reactor. The outer cylindrical stator has a vertically disposed duct surrounded by alternately stacked layers of coil units and laminates.
