    Abstract: An apparatus and method for forming laminations for a stacked lamination assembly of a dynamoelectric machine wherein the laminations of the assembly are provided with displacement segments and complimentary openings of slightly larger dimensional size, the segments being configured to abate lateral shifting of adjacent laminations when the segments and compatible openings of the laminations are in nesting relation in a stacked lamination assembly.
