  • Patent number: 10400814
Abstract: A system to prevent fouling in rigging is provided that includes a first plate configured to be received on a first side of a thimble for a cable end, and a second plate configured to be received on a second side of the thimble. The first plate and second plate are configured to enable the thimble to receive a ring of a shackle assembly, but to block at least one end of the shackle assembly from entering an eye of the thimble while the first and second plates are on the first and second sides of the thimble.

  • Patent number: 10102773
Abstract: An aviation performance evaluation methodology that can be implemented in various ways depending on the applications of interest. Baseline standards for expected performance are stored in one or more databases. One database may contain performance parameters and another database may contain baseline standards such as expert gaze data. Real-time actual performance data is acquired using an eye tracker system comprising at least one video camera, at least one infrared light source, and a computer system which receives image data from the video camera(s). More specifically, the actual and expected performance data are input to a computer system that is programmed to analyze the actual performance based on a comparison of the actual and expected performance data. Based on the results of the comparative analysis, context-adjusted inferences can be made regarding performance, adopted strategies, gaze scan quality, alertness or distraction, situational awareness, and workload.

  • Publication number: 20130280678
Abstract: An aircrew training system and method utilizes an analytical software tool to assess student pilot gaze activity and flight performance against established baseline standards. The system comprises databases that contain information detailing the expected state of aircraft instrumentation and characteristics of experienced gaze behavior associated with activities undertaken throughout each phase of flight. These databases provide operational context and a baseline reference for performance evaluation. The resultant output provides the instructor with insight into student gaze intersection, scan activity, adopted strategies, and other performance metrics based on cumulative data.

  • Patent number: 8135694
Abstract: The augmentation of contents of an electronic document with data from a search is described. The augmentation of data includes reading a search criterion from an electronic document, where a portion of the electronic document is comprised of the search criterion, retrieving data that matches the search criterion, and augmenting the contents with the retrieved data.

  • Publication number: 20060022113
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for imaging light are disclosed. Light is imaged by collecting light, converting the collected light into a electrical charge signal, multiplying the electrical charge signal to produce multiple electrical charge signals with associated levels of gain, converting the electrical charge signals to voltage signals, and developing an output signal from one or more of the voltage signals that represents the collected light. The electrical charge signal may be multiplied using an electron multiplication device associated with multiple taps to produce the electrical charge signal with different levels of gain.
