  • Patent number: 5409292
Abstract: An infant carrier comprising a seat having a front, back, opposed parallel side walls, and a handle having opposed parallel legs with one end of each of the legs being pivotally connected to a mating side wall. The legs extend upwardly and inwardly from the side walls and terminate at their distal ends in a spaced apart relationship along a longitudinal axis between the side walls. A handgrip connects the distal ends of the legs so that the transverse axis of the handgrip extends along the longitudinal axis between the side walls. The handle is preferably of a molded plastic and may comprise two substantially identical legs which are secured together in the handgrip area.

  • Patent number: 5187826
Abstract: A cradle for an infant is convertible between a seat and a bed. The cradle has a stationary structure and a pivotable structure mounted to the stationary structure for pivotal movement about a transverse axis between a seat position and a bed position. A cover attached to a back portion of an upper section of the stationary structure and to a back portion of the pivotable structure and collapsible when the pivotable structure is pivoted to the seat position provides a barrier against drafts in the bed position of the pivotable structure. A pair of foldable braces and a pair of hooks are provided for securing the pivotable structure releasably in the bed and seat positions respectively. The hooks coact with pins used to mount the braces.

  • Patent number: 4968091
Abstract: An article useful alternatively as a booster chair with a high back for a small child, in a first orientation, or as a step stool, in a second orientation. The article has a seat portion, a back portion, and two side portions. The seat, back, and side portions are molded from a polymeric material, as a single part, defining a seating cavity with a high back. The seating cavity is adapted to seat a small child in the first orientation. The single part also defines a step. The article is adapted to support a person on the step in the second orientation. The article is provided with two sets of skid-resistant feet, one set for each such orientation of the article.

  • Patent number: 4934025
Abstract: An improved play yard having a lower horizontal support formed of rails, an upper horizontal support formed of rails and vertical support rails pivotably coupled therebetween, a central hub pivotably coupling the radially interior ends of the rails of the lower horizontal support and hinges coupling the rails of the upper horizontal support at intermediate locations. The hinges are adapted to be rotated about their axes between a locked position wherein the play yard is secure for operation and use and an unlocked position wherein the upper rails may be pivoted and the entire play yard collapsed upon the raising of the hub. Also disclosed is the hinge per se.

  • Patent number: 4798412
Abstract: A booster seat has provisions for accomodating a child in a number of different height positions. The booster seat comprises an open-sided base and a seat piece. The open-sided base has a forward channel and a back channel in each of two side supports. A seat of vertically spaced substantially level ledges are found in the channels, vertically offset from one another. The seat piece has a forward protrusion and a back protrusion on each side edge. The protrusions are vertically offset a distance substantially equal to the offset distances between the ledges so that when the protrusions engage the ledges in the base, the seat piece is substantially horizontal and secured in the open-sided base.
