  • Publication number: 20100143694
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process of thermoforming an acrylic polymer containing sheet by heating the sheet in a mold which comprises (a) a foam which would degrade if in contact with the heated sheet and (b) a thermal barrier which is intermediate the sheet and foam to prevent the foam from degrading. In many applications, the resulting article can be used without removal of the foam. Also, the foam can serve to protect the acrylic sheet such as during long distance shipping.
