Extraction may be conducted using acetone/water extraction solution at predetermined ratios to yield extracts comprising desired phytocannabinoids, cannabimimetic compounds, terpenes, flavonoids, alkaloids, waxes, and other secondary metabolites. A composition comprises the extract and at least one acceptable carrier. A method of treating, preventing, or ameliorating a disease in a subject comprises administering to the subject an effective amount of the extract or composition.
