  • Patent number: 5443673
Abstract: A panel assembly and method for manufacturing the panel assembly, especially adapted for use in vehicles, includes a panel of predetermined size and geometry wherein a surface of the panel to receive a gasket is primed using a material especially adapted to prepare the panel surface to bond with the gasket. The desired gasket profile is molded separately from the panel from a polymeric material. Following formation of the gasket, the panel is located thereon and pressed into intimate contact with the gasket for a prescribed period of time. The panel and attached panel are removed as an assembly. Additional or optional steps may be followed including preheating the panel and primed surface prior to bonding to shorten the cycle time and improve adhesion. Moreover, heat may be applied to the contact boundary between the panel and gasket substantially simultaneously with the application of pressure. The steps of heating and applying pressure may be repeated to insure proper adhesion.

  • Patent number: 5176355
Abstract: The housing of an air valve, the valve controlling the height of a vehicle seat supported on a suspension having an air spring, is pivotally connected to one of the frames of the suspension supporting the seat. A manual control lever connected to the housing is operative to change the angle of inclination of the housing for selecting a desired height of the seat. A control arm of the valve is connected by a linkage to the other frame of the suspension. These connections to the air valve control the valve for selecting a desired height and for automatically restoring the height for different weights on the seat.

  • Patent number: 4708213
Abstract: An improved hydraulic motor for downhole oil and gas wells to drive a sidewall core cutting apparatus comprising; a motor housing having a fluid inlet channel and a fluid outlet channel directed essentially parallel to each other and tangentially intersecting a rotor cavity with the motor housing containing an eccentrically positioned rotor with radially movable vanes within the rotor in a manner such that the fluid flow enters the cavity essentially tangentially and flows around the rotor and exits tangentially on the other side of the cavity. Such a hydraulic motor exhibits significant improvement in torque and power output at a given hydraulic power input when compared to previous hydraulic motors employed in such applications.

  • Patent number: 4678155
Abstract: An adjustable slide in a seat suspension is connected through a plate to a link of a parallel linkage, and one end of a shock absorber is connected to the slide. The other end of the shock absorber is connected either to a support for a seat guided by the parallel linkage of a suspension or to a base to which the parallel linkage is connected. Means for changing the distance of the slide over the plate from an adjacent pivot adjusts stiffness or quality of ride.

  • Patent number: 4434606
Abstract: This compact gear box is intended for a corn harvesting unit having a pair of harvesting rolls and a pair of gathering chain assemblies. The gear box includes a drive shaft and first and second pairs of shafts connected to the harvesting rolls and the gathering chain assemblies respectively. The drive shaft includes a bevel gear driving a bevel pinion gear mounted to the end of each of the first pair of shafts to rotate the harvesting rolls. The first shafts each include worm gears and the second shafts each include worm wheels engageable by associated worm gears of the first pair of shafts to rotate the gathering chain assemblies.

  • Patent number: 4093197
Abstract: A pair of leaf plate members. A seat support structure includes upper and lower housing members with scissors linkage members extending therebetween, one leaf plate member being attached to the scissors linkage members and the other being attached to the lower housing. The leaf plate members abut at a pivot area. Adjacent the pivot area, portions of the leaf plate members form a weight adjustment control.

  • Patent number: 3957304
Abstract: Vehicle seat assemblies, including seats and their suspensions that are to be mounted to rigid structure of vehicles, have restraint ties completely contained within the assemblies. The ties restrict the amount of upward and forward movement of the seats when they and their occupants are subject to abnormal forces when the vehicles roll over or are involved in other accidents. Each restraint tie is made from strong, flexible material such as wire rope; one end of a tie is connected to one frame of an assembly at the top of its suspension, and the other end is connected to another frame at the bottom of the suspension. The latter frame may be the movable member of a rugged fore-and-aft adjusting mechanism. In addition, pelvic restraint belts are connected to a frame at the top of the suspension.
