  • Patent number: 8671004
Abstract: A system for providing spending information in a locality by foreign visitors using transaction records of financial presentation devices such as credit and debit cards that are presentable to merchants is disclosed. A storage device stores transaction data generated from card transactions. A transaction analysis module executable by a processor generates a filtered set of transaction records that exclude, from the stored data, a set of transactions which are indicative of having been made by long term residents of the locality, rather than by residents of foreign regions, in order to improve the accuracy of true foreign visitors to the locality. For example, the system filters out from the database all transactions of accounts that have made a bill-pay transaction. As another example, the system filters out non face-to-face transactions and all transactions with mail order and catalog merchants, and schools.

  • Patent number: 5450976
Abstract: A bar 26 comprised of a pair of adjustably interlocked rods 40, 42, with inverted U-shaped cleats 68 rotatably mounted on the relatively remote ends thereof, is supported on the fore and aft rims 18 and 20 of a refuse container 2, so that the open end portion 28 of a plastic sack 30 can be folded over posts 34 on the bar, and over a sidewall rim 22 of the container, and suspended in the bin 6 of the container, to subdivide the bin into a pair of open-topped receptacles 30, 32 for receiving separable components of the refuse, such as recyclable and nonrecyclable components thereof.

  • Patent number: 5440831
Abstract: A fishing bobber (21) utilizing a dual spool (22) rotatably mounted between two flotation chambers (35) in such a way that a fishing line (42) enters, passes through, and exits the bobber (21) in an approximate straight line by means of two entry/exit slits (33) Which are situated off-center in bobber (21). Fishing line (42) intersects an inner drum surface (26) of dual spool (22) at a tangent. Line (42) then wraps around one of the drum surfaces (26) and then passes through a center ridge (28) of the spool (22) by means of an open slit (32) whose shape zig-zags or folds back upon itself in order to secure the line (42). Bobber shell (21) is composed of two halves (34) which are held together with either a detachable hinge (4), or a living hinge (48), combined with a clasp and pin assembly (25); or by an axle shaft (50), or by threaded edges (66) and (68) on the two bobber halves (34).

  • Patent number: 5062539
Abstract: The container comprises two or more tube-like storage modules that are stacked on top of one another and interconnected by a plate-like lid which is removably interposed in the joint between the modules and has male/female joint-forming attachment grooves on the upper and lower sides thereof, which mate with in-turned out-turned flanges on the lower and upper rims of the modules, respectively, to form a joint in which the modules are releasably interlocked against relative movement in the lateral directions thereof. The modules have open-ended bins therewithin, and additional openings in the sides thereof through which a pair of panels are removably insertable to form false bottoms for the bins, or in the alternative, to open the bottoms of the bins for the unloading operation, when the panels are removed from the bins.

  • Patent number: 4944419
Abstract: In addition to a top opening, the container has at least one pair of apertures in a side wall thereof, through one of which a divider panel is removably inserted to form a false bottom for the relatively top portion of the container. The other aperture serves as an entry port for loading one type of refuse in the relatively bottom portion of the container. The top portion is loaded with a second type, meanwhile, through the top opening; and when the container is to be emptied, the integrity of each type is preserved by unloading the top portion first and then removing the panel to expose the bottom portion of the container to the top opening.
