    Abstract: An auxiliary sun or glare shield in the form of a tinted transparent sheet is provided along with an arrangement for demountably attaching the sheet to and positioning the sheet with respect to a vehicle visor. A bracket having an inverted J shape is slid over the pivot edge of a vehicle visor and is held in position by an adjustable strap. A pair of parallel arms are pivotally mounted to the bracket and support the sheet at their lower ends by compound hinge assemblies which permit the sheet to be rotated about a horizontal axis parallel to its top edge and/or to be swung by movement of the arms to achieve the desired position. The sheet folds parallel to the vehicle visor for storage.

    Abstract: A pressure and attitude responsive valve comprises a resilient substantially cylindrical hollow valve body having an opening in one end to receive a pressurized fluid to be regulated. The opposite valve body end is closed by a frusto-conical end wall having a central opening therein. A valve ball, larger than the opening but smaller than the valve body bore, is disposed within the valve body to open or close the opening depending on the attitude of the valve body. Longitudinal slits in the wall of the valve body permit resilient deformation of the wall and an opening of the slits upon occurrence of a predetermined pressure gradient. The valve is disposed in a valve housing in series with a check valve to comprise a shunt valve assembly for treatment of hydrocephalus.

    Abstract: A valve assembly for relieving intracraneal pressure includes a valve housing adapted for implantation and having an inlet port for connection to a ventricular catheter and an outlet port for connection to a venus or peritoneal catheter. The valve housing includes a fluid passage, the flow through which is controlled by a first pressure responsive valve of relatively high resistence and a second pressure responsive valve of relatively low resistence spaced downstream of said first pressure responsive valve. An attitude responsive valve is disposed in said fluid passage in parallel with said first pressure responsive valve. The valve assembly is implanted in a patient with the attitude responsive valve in a closed position when the patient is in an upright position and in an open position when the patient is in a horizontal position. The employment of pressure responsive and attitude responsive valves in parallel provides ventricular pressure relief regardless of the patient's position.

    Abstract: A ventilating hatch assembly for a boat deck or the like includes a square opening in the deck having a coaming extending therearound. A square frame having a hatch cover pivotally attached along one edge thereof is disposed over the opening and is demountably attached to the coaming. The frame and hatch cover may be removed from the coaming and selectively replaced at one of four ventilating positions spaced at 90.degree. intervals.
