Patent number: 8950040Abstract: A door safety device for either a hinged or a sliding door which when closing places the vertical door side edge in a position abutting the vertical face of either of two sides of a door jamb, or the vertical face of another sliding door, or the threshold end of a sliding door track. The device employs a body in pivotal engagement with a resilient body for positioning the body in an as-used position between the door side edge and the vertical face to maintain a gap to prevent finger crushing. A curved leading edge provides a deflection of impact forces upon the resilient body to prevent marring of the vertical face of the door jamb or threshold.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2013Date of Patent: February 10, 2015Assignee: Carlsbad Safety Products LLCInventors: Peter K. McRoskey, John W. McRoskey, Daniel A. McRoskey

Patent number: 8894902Abstract: A method for forming a maintenance hole base for the bottom surface of a maintenance shaft using a configurable modular mold and thermoforming or rotational molding. The modular mold is formed of individual members of groups of central core components engageable to surrounding periphery components to yield a mold which will form the appropriate engagement and communication pathways for the base when installed. Polymeric material is employed with the mold to yield a finished component configured for use in the base of the maintenance shaft.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 2012Date of Patent: November 25, 2014Assignee: JMJ Management, LLCInventors: Joseph McRoskey, John W. Patent number: 7786884Abstract: An alarm equipped door safety device for engagement at the hinge-side of a door's interface with a door jamb. The device is formed of an elastic body which prevents closure of the door to provide protection against crushing of a finger or object between the door and jamb. To provide warning and protect the door, the door jamb, and the hinges from stress damage, a body-compression activated switch generates a sonic alarm when closure of the door is attempted with the device engaged.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2009Date of Patent: August 31, 2010Inventor: John W. McRoskey

Patent number: 5064325Abstract: A thumbnut for use with a convex surface is provided with a plastic sheath in which the bottom face thereof has a series of projections arranged in a circumferential manner like the numerals on a clock face. Once the thumbnut is threadedly engaged with a bolt extending from the convex surface, these projections react in a ratchet-like manner with that surface. As the thumb nut is tightened the projections cause it to move alternatively from unstable "override" positions to stable "straddle" positions which effectively lock the thumbnut with respect to the convex surface, regardless of the amount of torque applied to the thumbnut.Type: GrantFiled: April 16, 1991Date of Patent: November 12, 1991Assignee: Republic Tool & Manufacturing Corp.Inventor: John W. Patent number: 4356941Abstract: A squeeze-type dispenser for a powdered material, commonly known as a puffer duster, for producing a cloud of appropriate treating powder for the control of insects and other infestations, and for similar purposes, in which a squeeze container has a wall that is deformable to decrease the volume of the container and produce a pressurized air source therein to force a stream of air through a passage to a connected nozzle, the passage comprising a thin walled tube connected with the nozzle and having restricted inlet openings so arranged that in any position of a partially filled container, there will be at least one opening positioned in the powder and another opening positioned in an air space within the container, whereby movement of the pressurized air to the nozzle will carry powder from the container to a tube section which is devoid of openings and wherein the powder and air will be mixed in such a manner that the powder will be ejected from the nozzle in the form of a dusting cloud.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1980Date of Patent: November 2, 1982Assignee: Republic Tool & Manufacturing CorporationInventors: John W. McRoskey, Delbert D. Swartz

Patent number: 4121733Abstract: Our invention relates to a wheeled fertilizer or other granular material spreader which is pushed over the area or surface to be treated. The granular material is dropped through feed openings onto the surface to be treated, the metering of the granular material being accomplished by placing the metering blade in a desired position or positions depending upon what particular granular material is being discharged from the hopper.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1977Date of Patent: October 24, 1978Assignee: Republic Tool & Manufacturing Corp.Inventors: John W.
