  • Patent number: 4291403
Abstract: A digital bit error violation rate circuit monitors the bit error integrity of a data stream and generates an alarm if the bit error rate exceeds an established bit error integrity threshold.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 22, 1979
Date of Patent: September 22, 1981
    Assignee: Rockwell International Corporation
Inventors: John W. Waddill, Bahram Pourmand
  • Patent number: 4071700
Abstract: Apparatus for testing the operability of a signal translation means which passes signal information containing a definable and repeatable characteristic such as a synchronization signal through the use of a spare similar device and a demodulating device which provides outputs upon detecting the signal passed by each signal translating device. As illustrated, regular and spare transmit multiplexing devices are used and logic information obtained from a spare receiver is used to indicate a failed condition.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 18, 1976
Date of Patent: January 31, 1978
    Assignee: Rockwell International Corporation
Inventors: Charles E. Huffman, Robert J. McGuire, John W. Waddill
