The laser source is configured to deliver light to a cell within the cells in order to induce bond vibrations in the cellular DNA. The system further includes a detection facility that detects the signature of the bond vibrations, wherein the bond vibration signature is used to determine the folding or packing of the DNA.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are described for enabling graceful recovery of network connections in a virtual machine instance that has been migrated or temporarily halted. To prevent the virtual machine instance from attempting to reuse open connections, which might fail due to migration or halting, a host device identifies open connections just prior to halting the virtual machine instance on the host, and transmits to the virtual machine instance termination signals for the open connections. The host device may further transmit termination signals to the other parties to such connections. Each termination signal may be formatted so as to appear to originate from the other party to the connection, causing both parties to synchronize their knowledge of the connection. On reactivation, the virtual machine instance can recovery the connections without errors associated with attempted utilization of broken connections.

The conversion device has a first side disposed toward the at least one of radiant heat, flame and hot combustion gases and a second side disposed toward and in heat transfer contact with a liquid supply line. The apparatus is useful in water heaters. The liquid supply line provides both water to be heated and a cooling medium for the thermal-to-electric conversion device.

Audio data generated based on sound detected by a sensor of the first electronic device during a predetermined time are received, as well as audio data generated based on trusted sound detected by a sensor of a second electronic device during the predetermined time, wherein the second electronic device is located near the unverified location of the first electronic device, and wherein the trusted sound includes one or more frequencies inaudible to humans (e.g., infrasonic and/or ultrasonic sound). The audio data generated by the first and second electronic devices are analyzed and a similarity score representing a similarity between the respective audio data is generated. The unverified location of the first electronic device may be verified based on the similarity score.
