  • Publication number: 20030134733
Abstract: A box erector of the type having a closure section and an exit section is provided for producing open boxes having taped bottom flaps. The box erector includes a main frame with a closure frame of the closure section carried by the main frame, a taping frame of the closure section carried by the main frame, and an exit frame of the exit section carried by the main frame. The closure frame includes an adjustable closure frame member, the taping frame includes an adjustable taping frame member, and the exit frame includes an adjustable exit frame member. An adjusting mechanism is provided for adjusting the adjustable closure frame member, taping frame member, and exit frame member, whereby an adjustable box erector capable of receiving a variety of differently sized boxes is provided that can be utilized as an adjunct to an existing product packaging system.

  • Patent number: 5156582
Abstract: A box erector for erecting a box from a knock-down configuration into an open rectangular box is disclosed which includeds a frame (10) for an inventory section (20), a transfer section (22), a flap closure section (24), a taping section (26), and an exit section (28). A transfer arm (A) pivots to a pick-up position where a vacuum assembly (B) picks up a top box and pivots the top box to a box-opening position at approximately 79.degree. from the pick-up position. At the box-opening position, the box is rotated 45.degree. from its horizontal pick-up position, and first and second arms (78, 80) of vacuum assembly (B) open the box to a rectangular shape. Thereafter, the transfer arm moves the box to closure section (22). A drive belt (88) and drive pulleys (88a, 88b) rotate vacuum assembly (B) so that the box is vertically oriented when deposited at flap closure section (24).

  • Patent number: 4911376
Abstract: An expandable shaft (B) is disclosed having one or more spaced expansion units (A) which contain swage pins (10) that are expanded radially by wedge members (14). Operators (D, E, F) are used to move the wedge members axially to expand and retract the pins. In a preferred form, the operator includes an operator member (30) which may be rotated to move an operator rod (38) axially. The operator member (30) has a first axial position in which the operator member rotates to move wedge member axially and a second axial position in which the operator rod is positively locked against rotation so that the operator cannot turn to loosen the clamping action of the pin against a core.

  • Patent number: 4216550
Abstract: A hip joint mechanism for adapting a leg prosthesis to a body adapter is disclosed which includes a hip hinge assembly having a hinge base and a hinge gate which pivot to accommodate pivoting of the leg prosthesis during sitting and a swivel assembly having a lock coupling providing locked and free rotational and longitudinal movement of the leg prosthesis. Means are provided for adjusting the hip joint mechanism to place the leg prosthesis in proper body and weight support alignment.

  • Patent number: 4090264
Abstract: The invention relates to an artificial leg device including a double-jointed knee connection having a pair of tie arms pivotably connected to upper and lower support members and a pair of inner linkage arms pivotably connected to the upper and lower support members intermediate the tie arms. A gear drive assembly is connected between the upper and lower support members providing synchronous rotation therebetween. A ratchet coupling is connected to the gear drive assembly having a pivotable pawl member cooperating with a ratchet wheel to form a lock therebetween for locking the knee joint in a weight-supporting configuration.
