  • Publication number: 20230368613
Abstract: A gaming system and method that provides one or more players with one or more pre-resumption opportunities prior to resuming the play of the skill-based game. The gaming system enables one or more players to affirmatively acknowledge, following a game play interruption, that they are ready to resume play of the skill-based game. Such an opportunity to indicate a readiness to resume the play of the skill-based game provides that the play of the skill-based game resumes when the player is ready and minimizes the affect of any game play interruption on the player's outcome of the skill-based game.
    Type: Application
    Filed: July 25, 2023
    Publication date: November 16, 2023

  • Patent number: 10512839
Abstract: A method of operating an electronic gaming machine includes displaying a three-dimensional game component to a viewer of the electronic gaming machine, wherein the three-dimensional game component is generated to have an apparent spatial position having coordinates including a z-coordinate in a direction extending toward the viewer; detecting a gaze direction of the viewer; comparing the gaze direction of the viewer to the apparent spatial position of the three-dimensional game component; determining that the gaze of the viewer is directed toward the three-dimensional game component; and responsive to determining that the gaze of the viewer is directed toward the three-dimensional game component, changing the z-coordinate of the apparent spatial position of the three-dimensional game component.

  • Patent number: 9710998
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a gaming system and method providing a slot game including a partial reel re-spin feature. Generally, for a play of the slot game in various embodiments, the gaming system displays a randomly determined plurality of symbols of a first set of symbols at a plurality of symbol display areas and makes an award determination based on the displayed symbols. Upon an occurrence of a triggering event, such as the display of a triggering symbol, the gaming system selects a designated set of a plurality of the symbol display areas and replaces the symbols of the first set of symbols displayed at the symbol display areas of the designated set with symbols from a second set of symbols, which may be the same as or different than the first set of symbols. The gaming system makes another award determination based on the displayed symbols.

  • Patent number: 9418507
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a gaming system and method providing a group award presentation of a plurality of similar or identical awards. Generally, the gaming system employs the group award presentation to display a plurality of similar or identical awards for a play of a game as a group rather than separately displaying each individual award. In one embodiment, the group award presentation includes a simultaneous display of the awards associated with a plurality of displayed instances of a winning symbol combination, wherein such awards are simultaneously displayed as a group of awards. In another embodiment, the group award presentation includes a simultaneous display of the awards associated with a plurality of displayed instances of a plurality of winning symbol combinations, wherein such awards are simultaneously displayed as a group of awards, and wherein those winning symbol combinations are associated with a same award.

  • Patent number: 7901289
Abstract: In one embodiment, a gaming apparatus is provided. The gaming apparatus may comprise a display unit, a value input device, and a controller operatively coupled to the display unit and the value input device. The controller may comprise a microprocessor and a memory operatively coupled to the microprocessor. The controller may be configured to generate a representation of a game display in a three dimensional (3D) graphics space, and to convert a view of the 3D graphics space into display data for display on the display unit, the view including the game display. The controller may also be configured to cause the display unit to display the display data, the display data including the view of the 3D graphics space, and to allow a person to make a wager. The controller may additionally be configured to cause the display unit to display a secondary display, the secondary display overlapping, at least in part, the game display, wherein the secondary display appears at least partially transparent.

  • Patent number: 7316613
Abstract: A gaming device having a primary game with a bonus triggering event that affects the outcome of a secondary or bonus game. The number of symbols in the bonus game is dependant on the number of bonus triggering symbols in the bonus triggering event. After generating a number of bonus triggering symbols in the base or primary game, the gaming device animates the bonus triggering symbols and generates a related number of bonus symbols. The gaming device provides an award based on the combination of the bonus symbols.
