  • Publication number: 20200134700
Abstract: A method for managing the servicing of vehicles in a fleet includes using a mobile device associated with a vehicle to be serviced to contact a fleet call center. The contact is received and a service request is opened in the fleet call center. A local servicer is identified, and information in the service request is sent to a data device of a service technician of the local servicer. Upon completion of servicing of the vehicle, a notification of completion of the service request is sent to a service administrator. The notification is validated to generate a completed service request, and information in the completed service request is sent from the service administrator to an approver of a fleet operations unit. The completed service request is approved at the fleet operations unit, and a purchase order is generated and transmitted from the fleet operations unit to the service administrator.

Abstract: An inspection system for a tire of a vehicle in a fleet includes a portable inspection device that includes means for measuring a tire pressure, means for measuring a tread depth of the tire, and an antenna for wireless communication. A hand-held data device includes a processor, memory and an antenna. The data device receives the measured tire pressure and the measured tread depth of the tire from the portable inspection device. A server is remote from the data device and a first wireless transmission means uploads the measured tire pressure and the measured tread depth of the tire from the data device to the server. An analysis device is in electronic communication with the server for analysis of the data uploaded from the data device. A second wireless transmission means communicates cloned data sets from the server to the data device. A method for inspecting is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20190289841
Abstract: An improvement to a roadside sprayer fixates spray nozzles on a registration plate. The registration plate may include integral tabs depending on the application. Inclination of the tabs is adjustable to place streams and droplets in a desired swath coverage. With the nozzles rigidly mounted onto the plate, the entire plate is notated. The use of the registration plate in a spray unit creates a uniform nutation among the nozzles, thereby reducing variability in droplet placement, and providing a more predictable spray from the nozzles. In other embodiments, the spray unit is utilized in a spray system adaptable to service vehicles, and may be utilized in conjunction with a vegetation engagement device, such as a cutter to engage multiple zones of a roadway right-of-way. Additionally, an improved spray unit includes an electromagnetic field and an attractor to generate plate motion.

  • Patent number: 10310491
Abstract: Various embodiments are described that relate to a radiating element and an engineered magnetic material. In a communication environment a radiating element can be used to communicate information, such as to send signals. Various factors, including electromagnetic factors, can influence the performance of the radiating element. In one example, if the radiating element becomes too close to a ground plane, then performance of the radiating element can suffer. To counter negative effects of being too close to the ground plane an engineered magnetic material can be employed that causes the radiating element to perform better when relatively close to the ground plane.

  • Publication number: 20190033988
Abstract: A method for controller tracking with multiple degrees of freedom includes generating depth data at an electronic device based on a local environment proximate the electronic device. A set of positional data is generated for at least one spatial feature associated with a controller based on a pose of the electronic device, as determined using the depth data, relative to the at least one spatial feature associated with the controller. A set of rotational data is received that represents three degrees-of-freedom (3DoF) orientation of the controller within the local environment, and a six degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position of the controller within the local environment is tracked based on the set of positional data and the set of rotational data.

  • Patent number: 9886742
Abstract: A near-eye display system includes a display panel, a beam steering assembly facing the display panel, a display controller, and a beam steering controller. The beam steering assembly imparts one of a plurality of net deflection angles to incident light. The display controller drives the display panel to display a sequence of images, and the beam steering controller controls the beam steering assembly to impart a different net deflection angle for each displayed image of the sequence. The sequence of images, when displayed within the visual perception interval, may be perceived as a single image having a resolution greater than the resolution of the display panel or having larger apparent pixel sizes that conceal the black space between pixels of the display, or the sequence of images may represent a lightfield with the angular information represented in the net deflection angles imparted into the images as they are projected.

  • Patent number: 9804683
Abstract: A method and apparatus for gesture interaction with a photo-active painted surface is described. The method may include driving a spatial electromagnetic modulator to emit electromagnetic stimulation in the form of an image to cause photo-active paint to display the image. The method may also include capturing, with at least a camera of a painted surface display system, image data of the image displayed on the photo-active paint applied to a surface and a user motion performed relative to the image. The method may also include analyzing the captured image data to determine a sequence of one or more physical movements of the user relative to the image displayed on the photo-active paint. The method may also include determining, based on the analysis, that the user motion is indicative of a gesture, and driving the spatial electromagnetic modulator to update.

  • Patent number: 9752892
Abstract: Methods and systems for acquiring sensor data using multiple acquisition modes are described. An example method involves receiving, by a co-processor and from an application processor, a request for sensor data. The request identifies at least two sensors of a plurality of sensors for which data is requested. The at least two sensors are configured to acquire sensor data in a plurality of acquisition modes, and the request further identifies for the at least two sensors respective acquisition modes for acquiring data that are selected from among the plurality of acquisition modes. In response to receiving the request, the co-processor causes the at least two sensors to acquire data in the respective acquisition modes. The co-processor receives first sensor data from a first sensor and second sensor data from a second sensor, and the co-processor provides the first sensor data and the second sensor data to the application processor.

  • Publication number: 20170202135
Abstract: A material spreader has an auger drive assembly and a slinger disc that are simultaneously driven by a mule-drive assembly. The mule-drive assembly is configured to be connected to and powered by a power-take off drive of vehicle, such as a tractor. The auger drive assembly includes a concentric auger drive shaft disposed within a tubular auger shaft and a step-down gearbox. The auger drive shaft is connected to the input of the step-down gearbox and the tubular auger shaft is connected to the output of the same gearbox. This arrangement allows the tubular auger shaft to rotate at a slower speed than the auger drive shaft and provides a compact assembly of the material spreader.
